Titans vs. Dolphins Predictions for Monday Night Football, NFL Week 4

Heading into the season, an early home game for the Dolphins would have fans and oddsmakers alike expecting a rather smooth victory. In fact, as early as the beginning of this week and that was still the case.

This earlier Monday Night Football clash opened with Miami as nearly touchdown favorites, and now it’s nearly a pick ‘em! That could perhaps be the biggest line movement we see the entire season, and of course, it is primarily due to the Dolphins’ QB situation. We’ll dive more into that as we go over each team and ultimately, get into the best bet from our Titans vs. Dolphins predictions!

Tennessee Titans: Turning A New Leaf

The Titans franchise put their eggs in the Will Levis basket this past offseason, but through the first three weeks of the year, it hasn’t been pretty. While Levis wasn’t quite a #1 overall pick, those in Tennessee would prefer he didn’t turn into another Ryan Leaf.

Levis has been on quite a long leash given his silly mental mistakes, which can be argued outright lost the Titans their first two games. Between multiple pick sixes, ridiculous laterals and more, many thought head coach Brian Callahan would have benched him by now. We’ll have to see if the big stage of prime time allows him to burn bright or crumble under the lights.

Miami Dolphins: The QB Carousel

By now, just about every fan knows about the Tua Tagovailoa situation, and we know that he isn’t even eligible to be on the field yet. We still have to wait and see if he’ll continue playing at all given his concussion history, but Miami also took another blow last Sunday with backup QB Skylar Thompson getting injured.

It doesn’t appear to be as serious, but even if he’s at 100%, the Miami offense has already proven to be a shell of what it was with Tua. After leading the entire NFL last season in several categories, they’ve scored just 13 points in their last two games. Speaking of which, that plays a massive role in where our Titans vs. Dolphins picks are focused.

Titans vs. Dolphins Predictions: First Half Under 17.5 Points (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Seeing Miami barely favored is strange enough, but perhaps what is even more wild is the extremely low total of just 36.5 points! To add to the weirdness of this matchup, we don’t even feel as though that is too low.

However, rather than focusing our Titans vs. Dolphins predictions on that market, we’re going to take just a slightly different approach. Instead, we’re going to focus on their being little to no fireworks to begin this MNF matchup.

Again, given the weapons on Miami, it feels strange to say, but they simply don’t have the vessel to get them in the position to explode. As mentioned, that’s been proven the past two weeks, as the Dolphins scored just 10 points (at home) in Week 2 and just three points last Sunday.

Therefore, it’s no surprise to hear that Miami is tied for the third-fewest first-half points per game at just 6.7/game. For all the Titans’ struggles, their defense has at least been solid early in games, allowing 10 first-half points per game. Admittedly, the Dolphins haven’t been great in that regard, but we simply don’t think Levis and Tennessee have the firepower to exploit that.

With all that in consideration, we’re making the best bet from our Titans vs. Dolphins predictions on the under 17.5 first half points (-110 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
