Saints vs. Panthers Predictions For NFL Week 9, Sunday 11/3
We’re fully aware that making Saints vs. Panthers predictions for this week may not be in the front of every fan’s mind given that these NFC South foes have a combined record of just 3-13. However, weak squads don’t mean that there isn’t value to be found.
Admittedly, when it comes to the best bet from our Saints vs. Panthers predictions, we’re targeting a market outside of the standard ones with a player prop, but we’re here to provide you with the best spots no matter what!
We’re taking that approach as the Saints vs. Panthers odds have New Orleans favored by a full touchdown on the road! That’s with them coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak, so while Carolina may be 1-7 themselves, it’s a tough spread to target. Speaking of that streak, let’s dive into the Saints first.
New Orleans Saints: Ending The Losing Skid
We’ve been mentioning it the past few weeks now, but after the Saints absolutely dominant 2-0 start to the season, their 0-6 streak has been wild to watch. Of course, it hasn’t helped that QB Derek Carr has been injured, but that’s just been the most recent three games.
Thankfully for New Orleans fans, Carr is set to return and let rookie QB Spencer Rattler continue learning under his wing. His return is certainly a factor in such a significant point spread, but even still, we just have a hard time imagining the Saints deserving to be a touchdown favorite on the road against any team.
Carolina Panthers: Back To Bryce
Speaking of QB changes, and young ones at that, the Panthers decided to bench second-year QB Bryce Young earlier this season in lieu of veteran QB Andy Dalton. However, due to a car crash, Dalton injured his thumb, and Young was thrust back into the spotlight this past Sunday.
It’s impossible to gauge where his mindset is at this point in terms of his confidence and the like, but he still dropped back quite often last weekend, attempting 37 passes. However, that’s not a good sign for Carolina, as RB Chuba Hubbard has been their bright spot, but he was held to just 56 rushing yards.
If he is unable to get going against New Orleans, it could indeed be a long day for the Panthers at home.
Saints vs. Panthers Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines
We’ve been referencing the significant point spread, and you can see the latest Saints vs. Panthers odds at FanDuel Sportsbook below:
- Point Spread: New Orleans Saints -7 (-110) vs. Carolina Panthers +7 (-110)
- Money Line: New Orleans Saints (-315) vs. Carolina Panthers (+250)
- Game Total (Over/Under): Over 43.5 (-110) vs. Under 43.5 (-110)
Saints vs. Panthers Predictions: Alvin Kamara Over 65.5 Rushing Yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
We mentioned Carolina RB Chuba Hubbard, but for the top pick from our Saints vs. Panthers predictions, we’re focused on a star RB on the other side - Alvin Kamara. Despite some worrying about his age heading into this season, he had a four-touchdown game as early as Week 2!
That came just a week after the season opener against Carolina, in which Kamara had 83 rushing yards on 15 carries. That kick started a four-game stretch of 77+ rushing yards in each one. While that streak ended, that was due to playing tougher run defenses in three straight weeks - the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The former two are excellent, and Kamara got himself back on track last Sunday with 67 yards on just 10 carries. We expect more volume and therefore, more yards thanks to facing an abysmal Carolina run defense. Their 154.6 rushing yards allowed per game are tied for the most, and their 14 rushing touchdowns allowed are the most.
With that in mind, we expect a big day from the New Orleans RB, making the best bet from our Saints vs. Panthers predictions Alvin Kamara over 65.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
