NFL Conference Championship Early Spread Picks & Predictions
Commanders vs. Eagles Spread Pick: Sunday, January 26th
For the NFC Championship, I’m picking the Commanders +6 against the Eagles. I think Philadelphia will more than likely win, but this spread seems a bit high for a rivalry game between two strong teams.
Washington has been on a roll, especially after their surprising 45-31 win over the top-seeded Lions in the Divisional Round. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels has been key, using his elite skillset to keep defenses guessing.
The Eagles are serious Super Bowl contenders, with the best rushing attack in the NFL and a defense that only gives up 18.1 points per game. They’ve been really strong at home and will try to control the game with their running game.
But Washington’s offense is impressive too, ranking fifth in points and total yards per game, and they’ve shown they can challenge even the best defenses. They also beat Philly in Week 16, proving they can compete with the top teams in the NFC.
I think this game will be close, and giving six points to a rising Commanders team seems too much. Let’s roll with the Commanders +6 (-110 at Caesars) for the first of our NFL Conference Championship picks.
Bills vs. Chiefs Spread Pick: Sunday, January 26th
I’m going with the Bills +2 against the Chiefs over in the AFC Championship. Buffalo looks really determined this season, while Kansas City has had a hard time really dominating games, even when they win, like their not-so-great 23-14 victory over Houston last week.
Josh Allen has been amazing, leading a Buffalo offense that scores the second-most points per game (30.9) and has the second-best red zone efficiency in the NFL (70.8%). The Bills’ defense isn’t perfect, but they’ve shown they can step up and take advantage of Kansas City’s shaky offensive line.
On the other hand, the Chiefs have been leaning on their defense, which has been great, allowing only 18 points per game (the second-best in the league). But Patrick Mahomes and the offense haven’t been as strong, ranking 15th in points per game (22.6) and having trouble keeping drives going. Buffalo already beat Kansas City earlier this season, and with their confidence and strong performance, they’re ready to take on the Chiefs again.
Even though it’s tough to bet against Mahomes at home, Buffalo’s advantages on both offense and defense make them a smart choice to cover the +2-point spread (-110 at Caesars) – and maybe even win the game – in this exciting matchup that caps off our NFL Conference Championship picks.
