All eyes were on the New York Jets in the final game of Week 1, where they fell to the San Francisco 49ers - last year’s runners-up. They’ll be looking to bounce back in Nashville against a Tennessee Titans team that collapsed their way to a Week 1 loss as well. With two 0-1 teams going head-to-head, we’re locked in with our best Jets vs. Titans predictions.

Jets vs. Titans Predictions For Week 2, Sunday 9/15

To label a game as a must-win in Week 2 certainly sounds dramatic, but it can be argued that is the case. Over the past five seasons, just two teams have made the playoffs after starting 0-2! That’s crazy to hear, and with the Jets being considered Super Bowl contenders thanks to the return of QB Aaron Rodgers, this now feels like a must-win for New York.

Of course, that would also inherently mean that it is also a must-win for the Titans, but expectations in Tennessee have been tempered with second-year QB Will Levis still developing. However, he does still have weapons thanks to a WR duo of DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley, so can they keep this game competitive?

Let’s continue on with our Jets vs. Titans predictions to help answer that question!

New York Jets: Rodgers Reeling In The Team

Rodgers, Rodgers, Rodgers. That’s seemingly been the only topic surrounding the Jets since he joined the team before last season, and perhaps rightfully so. While they have incredible young talent in RB Breece Hall, WR Garrett Wilson and CB Sauce Gardner, it seems as though they need the savvy vet to reel things in.

His weekly appearance on the Pat McAfee Show demonstrated a relaxed QB who isn’t panicking. However, as mentioned, a 0-2 start may be the cause for much greater concern. Rodgers hasn’t faced Tennessee often in his career, but he does have a 99.7 passer rating across five games against the Titans.

Tennessee Titans: Relying On New Weapons

Heading into Week 1 of the 2024-25 season, rookie QBs were 0-15. We had a few in action looking to break that trend, but only one of them did - Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams against the Titans.

Admittedly, it wasn’t so much Williams that led them to victory as much as it was Tennessee giving up a 17-0 lead by allowing a punt block return touchdown along with a pick-six. If they can avoid those few but massive mistakes, they have an outside chance for an upset this Sunday. We may not be willing to go quite that far with our Jets vs. Titans predictions, but you’ll see in our best bet that it isn’t completely out of the question.

Rather than trusting those units, they need to put their faith in new RB Tony Pollard and new WR Calvin Ridley.

Jets vs. Titans Odds, Spreads, Total & Betting Lines

Don’t worry, the top pick from our Jets vs. Titans predictions is coming right up, but first, the latest Jets vs. Titans odds brought to you by DraftKings Sportsbook:

Jets vs. Titans Point Spread: Tennessee +4 (-108 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

It may not be the most common pick that you’ll see this week, but frankly, being contrarian from the public pays off more than it doesn’t. Of course, we aren’t focusing our Jets vs. Titans predictions on Tennessee just for that reason.

Firstly, a home squad facing a team on a short week being an underdog provides value in itself, as does a matchup that we are specifically watching. For as great as the New York defense is touted to be, they simply aren’t good against the run. The San Francisco 49ers were without star RB Christian McCaffrey last Monday night, yet backup RB Jordan Mason torched the Jets for 147 yards and a touchdown.

That isn’t the only performance we’re concerned about. This is a continuation of last season, when New York allowed the eighth-most rushing yards. So, no, we aren’t concerned that the Titans are without RB Derrick Henry, as Pollard’s 82 rushing yards in Week 1 were enough for us to rely on.

Tennessee may not pull off the home upset, but with the point spread being over the key number of three, we’re comfortable taking them in Nashville. Therefore, the top pick from our Jets vs. Titans predictions is Tennessee +4 (-108 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
