Giants vs. Browns Predictions For Week 3, Sunday 9/22
Entering the season, there’s no denying that the Giants and Browns had different expectations placed on them. New York has fully looked the part of a non-playoff team, while Cleveland is trying to prove oddsmakers right by getting back to the postseason.
Neither team has been inspiring, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The G-Men were at least able to force the Washington Commanders to the brink in a 21-18 loss, but it was ugly nonetheless. Similarly, the Browns squeaked out an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, so perhaps the change of scenery was what they needed.
They’ll be back in front of the Dawg Pound this Sunday in what is projected to be a low-scoring game.
New York Giants: Making NFL History
As promised, the Giants made history with their loss to the Commanders. Washington needed a field goal as time expired to grab the victory, and in fact, field goals were all they needed. The Commanders’ seven field goals were what drove this historic matchup.
New York losing a game while scoring three touchdowns and allowing none was just the second time in NFL history. So, while they may not have been the first and only team to do it, the rarity of it is still staggering. In such games, the teams to score the three touchdowns were a whopping 1,294-1! It looks as though it could be a long season for Brian Daboll’s guys.
Cleveland Browns: Curing The Watson Woes?
After the Browns were all but crushed by the Dallas Cowboys on their home turf in Week 1, it was as if the season was already lost. Well, at least the faith in QB Deshaun Watson was already lost.
The criticism was that Watson and head coach Kevin Stefanski weren’t on the same page from a play-calling perspective, and truthfully, the offense’s 18 points didn’t quite put that speculation to bed. Watson going 22-for-34 could have certainly been worse, but it was how much better he looked running the ball that was the vast improvement. New York just had to deal with Washington QB Jayden Daniels doing just that as well, so we aren’t surprised to see the Giants vs. Browns odds having Cleveland as significant favorites.

Giants vs. Browns Predictions: Under 38.5 Points (-110 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
Yes, it’s a very low total. No, we aren’t worried. We’re still focusing on the under with our Giants vs. Browns predictions, and for good reason. First and foremost, you already saw the scores from these teams in their Week 2 matchups.
They both put up just 18 points and in Week 1, New York scored just six points, while Cleveland scored just 17. Truthfully, that included a garbage time touchdown, so it was more like a 10-point performance. Now, the Giants defense certainly isn’t the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, but they at least demonstrated a bend-don’t-break ability last Sunday.
Losing to seven field goals is certainly not a positive, but at least they tightened up where it matters most - in the red zone. As for Cleveland, their defense has been regarded as their best unit, so there isn’t nearly as much to convince in that regard. That’s even more true facing a Giants offense that lacks any sort of superstar with RB Saquon Barkley now in Philly.
So, if you love defensive, grind-the-clock football, this game is for you, which is why the best bet from our Giants vs. Browns predictions is under 38.5 points (-110 at FanDuel Sportsbook).
