We had a lot of fantasy football injuries in Week 4 of the NFL season as we began looking towards the NFL Injury Report for Week 5.

NFL Injury Report For Week 5: Fantasy Football Injuries

Some big names like Anthony Richardson and Jonathan Taylor both suffered injuries for the Colts and those are two of the names we’ll be monitoring throughout the week.

I’m sure we’ll collect even more data and have more injuries in the upcoming days, especially when practice reports begin rolling in on Wednesday.

NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Quarterbacks

Anthony Richardson Injury Update - Hip

It was an interesting day for the Colts quarterback in Week 4 because he injured his hip on a run in which he didn’t slide. He went into the locker room and eventually came back into the game. He once again ran and slid, but was uncomfortable sliding and exited the game again. Head coach Shane Steichen did not have any updates, but Richardson told the media after the game he isn’t sure about Week 5 and that he’ll be taking it day by day.

Russell Wilson Injury Update - Calf

We’re getting close to a 100% Russell Wilson, but will it matter? We’re unsure if he’s going to be the starting quarterback or if Justin Fields, who’s won three of the Steelers first four games. Wilson should be ready to rock in Week 5, but this fantasy football injury has turned into the worst-case scenario for Wilson.

NFL Week 5 Injury Report: Running Backs

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update - Ankle

It has been reported that Jonathan Taylor has a high-ankle sprain, the same one he needed surgery on in 2022. It’s reported to be “mild”, but head coach Shane Steichen said he didn’t have any specific updates today.

Travis Etienne Injury Update - Shoulder

Despite picking up a shoulder injury in Week 4, Travis Etienne was able to return to the game and play through it. That being said, it’s something to monitor throughout the week.

Joe Mixon Injury Update - Ankle

Per head coach Demeco Ryans, Joe Mixon is listed day-to-day with an ankle sprain. He’s trending in the right direction after practicing last Friday and almost suiting up in Week 4.

Nick Chubb Injury Update - Knee

Big freakin’ fantasy football injuries happen every week but man it feels good to report on some good news. The Browns have opened the practice window for Nick Chubb who returns to practice on Wednesday. They’ll now have 21 days to activate him, or he’ll be shut down for the remainder of the year.

Raheem Mostert Injury Update - Chest

Despite being listed as questionable for the Dolphins Week 4 outing on Monday Night Football, he is expected to be OUT for at least one more week according to Tom Pelissero.

Jonathan Brooks Injury Update - Knee

Even though head coach Dave Canales said that Brooks is in his final stages of returning to practice, they will not open his practice window in Week 5.

Rashee Rice Injury Update - Knee

The initial injury looked bad, and reports were that a possible torn ACL was feared. When reporters spoke to head coach Andy Reid on Monday, he said there isn’t an official diagnosis but that he would definitely be out for Week 5.

Christian Watson Injury Update - Ankle

At least it’s not his flimsy hamstrings, right? RIGHT? Despite initial worries about this ankle injury being a fracture, head coach Matt LaFleur said he thought Christian Watson would be out a week or so with an ankle sprain. That being said, he noted they’ll need to continue to evaluate how he’s doing throughout the week.

Khalil Shakir Injury Update - Ankle

After leaving the Bills Week 4 loss against the Ravens, Shakir returned and played the remainder of the game on an ankle injury. That said, head coach Sean McDermott told the media on Monday that they’ll monitor his status throughout the week.
