NFL Injury Report 2024-25 - Conference Championships: Jalen Hurts & More

There are just three games left in the 2024-2025 NFL season and two of them take place this weekend in the Championship Round.
The Washington Commanders take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game, and in the AFC Championship game, the Buffalo Bills play the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs.
NFL Injuries 2025: Conference Championships
There aren’t many NFL injuries we’re looking out for but there are some things we should be looking out for, especially in Philadelphia.
Jalen Hurts is the focus of the week considering his knee injury and the chance it impacts his mobility. Let’s dive into this week's NFL injury report.
NFL Championship Round Injury Report: Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts Injury Update - Knee
Jalen Hurts spoke to the media on Friday and said his knee injury is definitely progressing ahead of the NFC Championship Game. He was also asked if he’s going to be wearing a brace and he said he anticipates doing so. His mobility with a brace on will definitely be a point of emphasis come this weekend.
Patrick Mahomes Injury Update - Ankle
After being listed on the injury report earlier this week, Patrick Mahomes was listed as a full participant in practice for the next two days and has been fully removed from the injury report ahead of the AFC Championship game meeting against the Buffalo Bills.
NFL Championship Round Injury Report: Running Backs
Jeremy McNichols Injury Update - Hand
At some point during last week’s divisional round win, a game in which he scored in, Jeremy McNichols came down with a hand injury. He’s listed on the injury report but has practiced in full this entire week. He’s played 23 offensive snaps through two playoff games and 15 more on special teams.
NFL Championship Round Injury Report: Wide Receivers
A.J. Brown Injury Update - Knee/Illness/Rest
A.J. Brown’s knee injury hasn’t impacted him at all despite consistently being listed on the team’s injury report. This week he’s been listed with the knee injury, rest, and an illness he’s battling. None of that stuff has stopped him from practicing as he logged a full practice on Thursday and Friday and will be good to go this weekend.
Jamison Crowder Injury Update - Rest
Jamison Crowder played in just five regular season games this year but has appeared in each of the team's first two playoff games and even played 40-percent of the team's offensive snaps against the Lions. He’s listed on the injury report due to rest, so don’t worry about the veteran’s status this weekend.
Olamide Zaccheaus Injury Update - Hip
On the year, Olamide Zaccheaus was third on the Commanders in receptions, so his practice status this week is definitely a big deal. He was limited for the first two days of the week and returned to practice on Friday in full. He’s completely off the injury report, but there’s something there with the hip clearly.
NFL Championship Round Injury Report: Tight Ends
Dallas Goedert Injury Update - Ankle
Pretty cut and dry here. Dallas Goedert has an ankle injury. Dallas Goedert also told the media that he’s going to play this weekend despite that ankle injury. The oft-injured tight end practiced in full all week and should be all-systems-go in this spot.
Dalton Kincaid Injury Update - Knee
Dalton Kincaid has been listed as a full participant at practice this week as he’s dealing with some type of knee injury. I’m not sure how bad it is considering it hasn’t even been a conversation this week, but he’s on the team’s official injury report so it’s worth monitoring.
Zach Ertz Injury Update - Rib
After not practicing on Wednesday, Zach Ertz returned to practice in full on Thursday and Friday as a full participant. He’s not listed on the injury report heading into the NFC Championship game against his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Player News
Dolphins signed No. 13 overall pick DT Kenneth Grant to a four-year contract.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports that Grant will sign his contract today. The former Michigan defensive tackle is expected to fill a major void left by Christian Wilkins, who left for the Raiders in the 2024 offseason. Grant totaled 32 tackles, three sacks, and seven TFLs in his final season at Michigan and excelled at stopping the run while also generating 27 pressures in his final season, per PFF.
Beat reporter John Hendrix reports that free agent WR Donovan Peoples-Jones is among the 16 players that the Saints will host for their rookie minicamp.
Peoples-Jones last played regular season snaps with the Lions back in 2023, when he caught 13-of-24 targets for 155 yards. He is highly unlikely to return to fantasy relevance at this point but could perhaps sign on as a special teams contributor.
Titans signed fourth-round pick WR Elic Ayomanor to a four-year contract.
Ayomanor will now begin learning behind Calvin Ridley. Although Ayomanor is unlikely to find a meaningful role in year one, dynasty managers should note his status as training camp gets underway this summer. The former Stanford receiver flashed big-play ability in his two college seasons.
Buccaneers signed seventh-round pick WR Tez Johnson to a four-year contract.
Johnson will serve as a rotational deep-threat option for Baker Mayfield. His thin frame (5'10/154) simply does not lend itself to the repeated hits one incurs in a full-time role. Johnson did earn 100-plus targets in his two seasons at Oregon, though. His big-play style make him a better fit in best ball for now, pending any major on-field breakthroughs.
Giants waived DT Casey Rogers.
Rogers was a 2024 undrafted free agent and logged 33 defensive snaps for the Giants in his rookie season. He is credited with zero tackles and/or sacks. He may find his way onto another roster as a practice squad option.
Vikings signed third-round pick WR Tai Felton to a four-year contract.
Felton is quietly in play to challenge Vikings No. 3 WR Jalen Nailor in training camp. Nailor (5'11/190) caught 28-of-42 targets for 414 yards and six touchdowns in his first season as a starter last year, with the latter category buoying his fantasy productivity. Felton (6'1/183), meanwhile, caught 96-of-143 targets for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns while averaging 2.32 yards per route run in his final college season. Fantasy managers should monitor Felton’s training camp reports this summer, as he could have a matchup-based WR5 role if everything falls into place.
