Week 7 is here, and it is a chance for fantasy football players to get lucky, especially Fantasy Football IDP managers.

There are only two teams on bye this week, but each have great IDPs that need to be benched. Take any starting Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys out of the starting lineups.

2024 Fantasy Football Week 7 IDP Overview

There is a set of amazing risers, waiver wires, and matchups to take advantage of for Fantasy Football Week 7 IDP.

It’s crazy to believe that over 34% of the fantasy football season is over, but now is the time to focus on a winning streak and improving the roster for the final stretch.

Fantasy Football IDP Risers

Dante Fowler, Defensive Lineman Washington Commanders, is coming off an impressive game albeit a loss. He earned 4 tackles, and 2 sacks against the Baltimore Ravens, which is difficult to do. It is second game in a row with a sack, and Fowler is a regular on the Commanders defensive line rotation.

For IDP fantasy football managers he should be rising on the waiver wire and he is a name to remember. His Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers could bring another stats stuffing game. A name to remember and worth a Fantasy Football Week 7 IDP add for deep Fantasy Football IDP leagues.

Sione Takitaki, Linebacker New England Patriots, came back last week but was not effective. Still the Patriots will need more of a presence in the middle of their defense with J. Bentley out for the season. Takitaki was likely eased into the rotation but is a big interior linebacker with better than average defensive passing skills.

He is worth monitoring for Fantasy Football IDP managers going forward and is a riser on the board. He may not have much value for Fantasy Football Week 7 IDP, but it should not be long before he is inserted as a starter or third down linebacker. Monitor Takitaki’s success going forward.

Rodney McLeod, Defensive Back Cleveland Browns, is an old veteran but still producing for fantasy football managers. Many Fantasy Football IDP players remember him from the Philadelphia Eagles. but he is quietly having an excellent year for the Cleveland Browns

He has three straight games with double digit points (in most fantasy football leagues), and has 15 combined tackles in the last two weeks. The Browns are a horrific offensive team and their Fantasy Football IDPs benefit from it. McLeod is a riser for Fantasy Football Week 7 IDPs and worth spending FAAB on as Cleveland will continue their offensive woes.

Fantasy Football Week 7 IDP Waiver Wire Targets

Alim McNeill, Defensive Lineman - Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions gave the Dallas Cowboys one of their worst home losses in franchise history and the worst in Jerry Jones tenure as owner. They won the battle, but not without major casualties, Aidan Hutchinson is lost for the remainder of the season. He was their best defensive player, but others will have to step up in his absence.

Alim McNeill has proven he is capable of stepping it up and did so last week. He had two sacks and has recorded 0.5 sacks or more in two straight games. Much will be asked of the veteran nose tackle, and he will help deliver in weeks going forward. Grab him on your waiver wire, particularly if you need a defensive lineman for Week 7.

Willie Gay, Linebacker - New Orleans Saints

Willie Gay had an excellent game last week and is looking healthy for the first time this season. He is available in most IDP leagues and could be a great depth linebacker going forward. The Saints have a quick turnaround for, and Gay’s missed time to injury could be a blessing in disguise with fresh legs for a fast approaching Week 7 match.

He recorded 4 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 passes defended last week in a display of his versatility. He could have another great week against a struggling Denver Broncos offense. Pick up Gay in IDP leagues, especially fantasy football leagues which require three or more linebacker starters or have multiple IDP flex spots.

Antoine Winfield, Defensive Back - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Picking up Antoine Winfield could be the pro move that wins your IDP league. Several fantasy managers will not place an IDP on their IR spot, particularly in a year with so many injuries to starters. The 2023 All-Pro is not an exception to this action.

Winfield was out for four weeks and could have been forgotten in most leagues. He made a grand return with 28 points behind a fumble recovery and touchdown last week. DO NOT HESITATE to put a waiver in on Winfield or spend more than the allocated amount of FAAB on him! He is a fantasy football league winner who is available in several IDP formats.

NFL Week 7 IDP Matchups To Capitalize On

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Rams: Sunday 4:05 PM ET

The truth is Maxx Crosby is rostered in every IDP league in which he was drafted. However some people are in one time use leagues, and others are in 1 IDP requirement leagues. If that is the case do not hesitate to put Crosby in the lineup.

This could be his best fantasy football performance of the season in lucky number 7. The Los Angeles Rams allow several sacks, and Stafford has been sacked two or more times in every game this season. He has a total of 16 sacks in five games, and the bye week is not going to change that much.

In addition to that Crosby could have several tackles due to Rams running back Kyren Williams’ high number of carries, and jet sweeps to the outside. Play Crosby with confidence in Week 7.

Carolina Panthers vs. Washington Commanders: Sunday 4:05 PM ET

Trevin Wallace has made a loud hello to the IDP community with back-to-back great performances. 24 combined tackles in the past two weeks are outstanding, and one that has given him a lot of attention. He also has a forced fumble and fumble recovery and is capable of the big play.

The Panthers are a mess offensively and Wallace is benefitting from Shaq Thompson and Josey Jewell being injured, but Wallace may have earned a spot for the rest of the season. The Commanders run often and pass short routes which will benefit Wallace. Look for a high scoring Week 7 against Washington.

Denver Broncos vs. New Orleans Saints: Thursday 8:15 PM ET

The Broncos are playing on a short week but could be playing a game for their Head Coach Sean Payton in his return to New Orleans. They could be playing motivated, but will have one clear advantage, playing against a rookie quarterback.

Spencer Rattler will be making his 2nd career start on a short week, and against a great defense. Brandon Jones is part of the new ‘Orange Crush’ and could have an expanded role with Patrick Surtain injured last week.

Not that he needs more, he earned 20 combined tackles in the past two games, and 44 through six games. In fact Jones has five or more tackles in every game this season. He should continue this against the Saints in Week 7, and he should be added in IDP fantasy football leagues.
