NFL DFS Wild Card Weekend Dart Board: Top Value Picks For DraftKings & FanDuel

Published: Jan 12, 2025
Welcome to the DFS Dart Board for NFL Wild Card Weekend! If you are playing the full six-game slate that runs from Saturday through Monday, then you should have already gone through the full NFL DFS Playbook. We do have a separate Playbook for the Saturday two-game slate, but this Dart Board was added to supplement the main Playbook for those who might be playing the three-game Sunday-only slate.
If you're looking to fit in the likes of Josh Allen, Derrick Henry and Justin Jefferson, you're going to need some strong DFS bargains and value picks. But again, it's more than just about the price tag. It's also about opportunity and low ownership. If we can find players who fit all three criteria, then we are in business.
NFL DFS Wild Card Weekend Dart Board Preview
Keep in mind, with just six games on the slate and the fact that these are the NFL playoffs, the Dart Board will not be as robust as it was in Week 18 or really any other week, for that mater. Teams lean on their top stars and the opportunities afforded to some of the players who cost substantially less. In Week 18, I made a joke in the article about Ainias Smith popping off and while it was fun to see him score the first touchdown for the Philadelphia Eagles, we aren't getting deep dart-throws like that this week.
Still, there are some names we should be paying attention to for salary-saving and punt-plays, so let's just get right to it.

RB | Jaleel McLaughlin | DEN @ BUF Sun 1:00 | 4900 | 5500 |
There's not a lot to love about the Denver backfield, but someone needs to run the ball as that's how you best Buffalo. I thought about using Audric Estime as he's the plodder of the group, but if we're also expecting the Broncos to be playing from behind at times, we need someone who can handle double-digit carries and is active in the passing attack. Bo Nix isn't one to check it down too often but we know Joe Lombardi likes passes to his running backs. McLaughlin checks all the boxes, including a cheap price tag. RB | Cam Akers | MIN @ LA Mon 8:15 | 4800 | 6200 |
Anyone up for a revenge-game narrative? Forget the price on FanDuel. That's just stupid for his workload. DraftKings, on the other hand, why not? We know Aaron Jones leads the backfield, but we've also been watching Akers play a 30-percent snap-share and seeing a few looks in the passing game lately. If the Vikings are able to clamp down on a lead in the third quarter, I could see Akers weaved into the action to help chew the clock. We all know he and Sean McVay had beef back when he was with the Rams, so perhaps he gets the opportunity to show up his former coach. Game Type: GPP Weather: Clear
RB | Ty Johnson | DEN @ BUF Sun 1:00 | 4200 | 4800 |
Fun fact: The Broncos rank 31st in DVOA against running back pass-plays and while James Cook is the primary and Ray Davis sits second on the depth chart, we've seen Johnson get into the action as a receiver out of the backfield. It's only about a 30--35% snap count, but if Joe Brady wants to get creative, we've seen him deploy Johnson both between the 20s and inside the red zone. Probably a better dart for the three-game Sunday-only slate, but still worth a look. Game Type: GPP Weather: Heavy snow
WR | Keon Coleman | DEN @ BUF Sun 1:00 | 4600 | 5300 |
He actually sees the highest snap-count of any of the Buffalo receivers and while Mack Hollins sometimes eats into his targets during three-receiver sets, he still sees plenty of work. The key is going to be where he is in relation to Patrick Surtain. We don't expect him to be lined up opposite Surtain every time and on deeper plays where he isn't, All will be looking for him. If you were thinking about a contrarian stack in the face of this vaunted Broncos pass defense, Coleman could be a nice addition. Game Type: GPP Weather: Heavy snow
WR | Olamide Zaccheaus | WAS @ TB Sun 8:15 | 4400 | 5600 |
He's third on the team in targets behind Terry McLaurin and Zach Ertz and he's second among the wide receivers in snap-counts. The role has increased over time and prior to the Week 18 cakewalk against the Cowboys he had been coming off back-to-back games where he amassed 13 catches on 17 targets for 155 yards and three touchdowns. We expect this game to have some shootout vibes, so you can use him as a one-off dart-throw or use him to replace Ertz in a potential stack. Game Type: GPP Weather: Mostly clear
WR | Jalen Nailor | MIN @ LA Mon 8:15 | 3600 | 4900 |
The Rams rank 16h in DVOA against the opposing slot receiver and are allowing an average of 51.5 receiving yards per game to them. Nailor plays roughly a 50-percent snap count and has seen nine targets over the last two games of the season. He caught a touchdown two weeks ago against the Packers and could be let loose against the Rams if this one turns into a shootout. Game Type: GPP Weather: Clear
WR | Derius Davis | LAC @ HOU Sat 4:30 | 3300 | 4600 |
With Joshua Palmer out, Davis could be in-line for some extra snaps and targets this week. Based of what he's done in recent games, this could be a really nice dart-throw, especially if a banged-up Quentin Johnston gets limited in any way. In Weeks 16 and 17, Davis has four catches for 60 yards and two touchdowns, but what the box score doesn't tell you, he also had two touchdowns called back on penalties that had nothing to do with him, so you know he's getting the looks from Herbert. He also returns punts and kicks, so if he breaks one, both DraftKings and FanDuel give you points for that. Game Type: GPP Weather: Fog |
