Best NFL Thanksgiving Player Prop Picks
The last time we left you with our best NFL player prop picks, we targeted Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa to go over 245.5 passing yards, and he threw for 317 on Sunday. Interestingly enough, the lefty will be playing on Thanksgiving as well.
While he didn’t make the cut for our Thanksgiving player props, his matchup with the Green Bay Packers should be a great one. In terms of best NFL player prop picks for that clash, we’re not focused there given the RB split that Miami has and in Green Bay, it’s always pick your poison with their WR core.
So, our best NFL player prop picks for Thanksgiving are in the earlier two games, which means you won’t have to wait as long for them either!
Thanksgiving Player Props: Caleb Williams Over 229.5 Passing Yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
First up - the first game on Thanksgiving Day. It’s a classic NFC North rivalry with the Detroit Lions hosting the Chicago Bears, and we’re targeting the road team. That may seem strange given that the Lions are an absolute wagon right now, but that plays a part in why rookie QB Caleb Williams kicks off our best NFL player prop picks.
Detroit is a massive 13-point favorite in this early afternoon matchup, and for good reason. Their point differential is the best in the NFL by a mile, so we fully expect Chicago to be trailing in this matchup, and likely early on. That leads to one thing - needing to throw to catch up.
Williams hasn’t faced the Lions in his young career yet, but we trust him to be able to rack up yards in that situation. Falling behind early means that Detroit can play soft coverage, and while WIlliams hasn’t been able to win recently, playing from behind has allowed him to pad his stats.
Just this past Sunday, he threw for 340 yards, making it the third time he’s eclipsed 300 passing yards this year. Detroit allows the eighth-most passing yards this season, and while that is primarily due to teams trailing, that is the spot we expect the Bears to be in on Thursday.
Therefore, the first of our best NFL player prop picks for Thanksgiving is Caleb Williams over 229.5 passing yards (-115 at BetMGM Sportsbook).
Thanksgiving Player Prop Bets: Malik Nabers Longest Reception Over 19.5 Yards (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook)
Next up - another rookie! We’re looking for the youngsters to show out under the spotlight, and New York Giants WR Malik Nabers has already done just that. When the rookie faced the Dallas Cowboys in prime time on Thursday Night Football, he had a career day with 115 yards on 12 catches.
You can certainly go with either of those props as well, but we see the most value with his longest reception prop. It’s a bit of a more unique one, but it’s been as consistent as it gets. While Dallas’ run defense has been getting picked on, and rightfully so, they had their best game against the G-Men.
On the contrary, Nabers had a long reception of 39 yards in that game - his longest of the season. In fact, he began his career with long receptions of 25, 28, 28 and 39 yards in his first four games. In total, he’s had long receptions of less than 19 yards just three times all year.
We also aren’t worried that Tommy DeVito is now the QB for the Giants, as he targeted Nabers nine times on Sunday. Better yet, Nabers has had double-digit targets in all but three games this season, including three with 13+ targets.
He’ll be looking to make amends for his “soft” comment about the team on Sunday, so we’re taking Malik Nabers longest reception over 19.5 yards (-110 at BetMGM Sportsbook) as part of our best NFL player prop picks.
