We have seven games across the NBA on Friday, January 19th, so there are plenty of routes to attack on Underdog Fantasy Pick Em. There are a lot of great spots on today’s slate, but two I’m targeting are LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets against the San Antonio Spurs and Nic Claxton of the Brooklyn Nets taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. Let’s dive into our top Underdog Fantasy NBA Pick Em’s of the day!

Top Underdog Fantasy NBA Pick'em Plays

LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets

Ball has been back for three games since his ankle injury and has looked like he’s never left. He’s scored 28+ points in two of three and pre-dating his injury, he’s been north of 27.5 points in eight-of-10 games. In the two games in which he didn’t, he got hurt and was limited due to a blowout. He’s been over in 10 of his last 13 games. The Spurs are third in pace and 24th in defensive rating and are without Victor Wembanyama patrolling the paint this evening. Charlotte was also a top-10 team in pace with LaMelo Ball earlier in the year, so this game will be up-tempo from the jump.

Pick: Higher 27.5 points

Nic Claxton, Brooklyn Nets

This is a tough spot against Anthony Davis and at times we worry about foul trouble, but Nic Claxton has had some tough spots lately facing off against Jarrett Allen and Bam Adebayo and has been good in that department. He’s played three games without Day’Ron Sharpe and has had 11+ rebounds in all three and in his last six games has 11+ boards. During the month of January (six games), Claxton’s fifth in the NBA in rebounding opportunities per game at 20.2. What’s helped Claxton so much is how much he’s playing. He has averaged 32.7 MPG in January and is only at 28.5 on the year.

Pick: Higher 11.5 rebounds
