Let’s get right into to my expert NBA Sleeper picks for today!
NBA DFS Sleeper Picks For Tonight, 3/18
Georges Niang DFS Plays: PF, Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers will be missing Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley once again tonight as they face off against the Pacers. This game presents a great opportunity for the Cavs to pick up the pace, as it has one of the highest game totals on the board.
In recent weeks, Niang has really stepped up his game, taking on more minutes due to injuries. As a starter this season, he has been averaging an impressive 13.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. His shooting percentages have also been outstanding, with 44.7% from three-point range and 50.8% from the floor.
Tonight, we'll be keeping a close eye on Niang's point projection, which is set at 11.5 points. In five of the seven games he has started this season, Niang has surpassed this projection, including five of the last six games.
Jalen Duren DFS Plays: C, Detroit Pistons
We typically avoid targeting players going against the Boston Celtics, but tonight's game could present a risk for the Pistons as they are 15.5-point road underdogs. However, it's important to consider the Celtics' lineup for tonight and identify any potential weaknesses to exploit.
The Celtics are playing on the second leg of a back-to-back, and Al Horford, who played on Sunday, has not played a back-to-back game this season. Therefore, it's highly likely that he will be ruled out for tonight's game.
Additionally, Kristaps Porzingis has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for the past five games, making it unlikely for him to return tonight. With the Celtics comfortably leading the Eastern Conference standings by 9.5 games, it's understandable that they may prioritize resting their key players.
As a result, the Celtics' starting front court will consist of Luke Kornet at center and Xavier Tillman as the backup. This presents a prime opportunity for Duren to exploit their weaknesses, particularly in rebounding. Kornet is a stretch center, while Tillman is undersized, making them vulnerable in this aspect of the game.
In a similar matchup against the Raptors and Kelly Olynyk, Duren managed to pull down an impressive 23 rebounds. Furthermore, he recently had a 17-rebound game against a tougher opponent in Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat.
Considering Duren's recent performances, it's worth noting that his rebounding projection for tonight's game is set at 11.5, a number he has surpassed in two of the last three games.
Total Multiplier: 3.4x
