NBA DFS Showdown CPT/MVP Top Plays
Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics
This year has been a very solid one for Jayson Tatum and once again, he leads the team in FP/min and usage rate at 1.29 DKP/min and 30.7% USG. This is a pace up spot for the Celtics who happen to be 5.5-point road favorites. With Kristaps Porzingis out here, Tatum is averaging 1.32 DKP/min without him on the floor.
Derrick White, Boston Celtics
With Kristaps Porzingis out, nobody on Boston receives a bigger usage bump and DK +/- differential. White has a 22.1% USG and is averaging 1.18 FP/min without Porzingis this season, which is the second-highest mark on the team. Using White at captain lets you comfortably get to Tatum, Stephen Curry, and Jaylen Brown. At least two of the three.
Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics
Three times over his last eight games Jaylen Brown has put up at least 46 DKP or more and is coming off a dominant 31 point, six assist, five rebound game his last time out. He has a 31% USG along with 1.13 FP/min without Kristaps Porzingis this year.
NBA DFS Showdown UTIL Top Plays
Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors
This hasn’t been Steph Curry’s best fantasy season but without Draymond Green and Gary Payton II this year, he’s still averaging 1.22 FP/min and has a 29.5% USG without them, which leads the team in both categories. Curry and the Warriors are home dogs, which is interesting given their long history of Golden State being an advantage for the home team. I’d be OK getting to Curry at the captain spot too.
Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors
Thompson’s had a fantastic three-game stretch and has shot the ball extremely well, especially from three. He’s made four-plus threes in each game and has scored 24+ points and 38+ DKP in each contest. It’s a tough spot considering he’s going to see a plethora of elite perimeter defenders, but when Thompson’s making shots this way he’s hard to slow down. On the data side, he averages 1.02 FP/min and has a 25% USG.
Al Horford, Boston Celtics
The Celtics are now down both Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet and that means Horford is likely going to be playing all the minutes he can handle in a competitive game. He’s averaged 1.04 FP/min without those two guys this season and his match-up against whoever Golden State throw at him he has an advantage over. Especially considering Golden State is trying to figure out what to do in the front court.
NBA DFS Showdown Value Plays
Andrew Wiggins, Golden State Warriors
Despite coming off the bench, Wiggins has played extremely well off the bench in each of the last two games. He’s played 27 and 29 minutes in those contests and has 24 and 42 DKP in those games. Wiggins hasn’t been the best fantasy producer on a per minute basis this year, but he’s obviously improving lately.
Dario Saric, Golden State Warriors
With Al Horford as the Celtics starting center, Dario Saric could possibly be in line for extended run here. Saric spaces the floor for the Warriors extremely well and without Draymond Green and Gary Payton, he’s SECOND on the team in FP/min at 1.08. Interesting spend down if he find his way to mid-20’s minutes.
Neemias Queta, Boston Celtics
Boston is without it’s top two centers and we’ve seen Queta operate as the backup center before. He’s a .87 FP/min player this year but he’s incredibly active on the glass and blocks shots too. He also is quite foul happy at times. He could see teens minutes and that wouldn’t be the worst punt.
