NBA Best Bets Today, 2/21: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Friday

The Boston Celtics came through, easily covering the spread in a twenty-point victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Ivica Zubac covered his rebounding proposition, but the Los Angeles Clippers were unable to win against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Nikola Vucevic once again failed to earn eleven rebounds, outshadowed by teammate Josh Giddy who earned 16 rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns battled all four quarters, but our NBA best bets on the Spurs to win came through.
Thank goodness too, as the plus odd proposition kept the damage from Clingan’s disappointing night to a minimum.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets: 2/21
There are nine games today and two of them nationally televised on ESPN. There are two plus odd wagers and a player prop with data backing it up.
The bet of the night of today’s NBA best bets comes from the second nationally televised match.
Timberwolves vs. Rockets Prediction: Edwards O6.5 Rebounds (+120 on DraftKings) *Bet of the Night
There is an interesting statistic currently. The Eastern Conference’s top seven teams are all on a two or more-game winning streak. The Western Conference’s top seven teams have only one team with a win streak, the Denver Nuggets.
The Houston Rockets host the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Toyota Center, and both are in the top seven of the Western Conference. It is possible that these two meet in the playoffs, but for now they both want a winning streak of their own. They can each move up or down in the rankings depending on how the rest of their season’s success.
These two played each other earlier this month and the Timberwolves won that match 127-114. Anthony Edwards also recorded seven rebounds in that game. In fact he has seven or more rebounds in four of his last five matches. He has six or more in his previous seven matches and the data indicates he could earn seven or more tonight.
Houston allows 52.3 rebounds per game which is near the league median, and although Edwards’ three-point attempts has been the focal point of discussion, his rebounding has been reliable. He is currently tied with his career best average, and if he keeps up this pace will have a new career best.
This is a marque match on ESPN, and Edwards seems to play better while under the national spotlight. He didn’t log one minute of playtime in the All-Star match, and he should be well rested. Trust him to be active on the boards and cover this plus odd proposition.

Pistons vs. Spurs Prediction: Detroit -5.5 (+100 on Bet365)
The San Antonio Spurs successfully cashed a plus odd money line for this article yesterday. Today we bet against them and take the spread in the process. The Spurs are an improving team, but the Detroit Pistons are a much better team than the Phoenix Suns, as crazy as that might sound.
The Pistons have a winning record, have won four in a row, and are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference. They have momentum, are rested, and have a young roster eager for success.
Monty Williams was the head coach of the Suns, took them to the NBA finals and was fired shortly after. Now he is reviving the pride of one of the NBA’s legendary franchises and lifting the hopes of a passionate fan base.
The Spurs play their second match in their neighboring city, Austin. However it is also their second game in as many nights and they are without Victor Wembanyama. It is a team with older veterans in their starting lineup and they could be tired or rested tonight.
The spread is currently -4.5 in favor of the Pistons, but the suggestion is to tease it up one point. Not a lot, this is not an attempt to be greedy. This is an attempt to knock off the juice on a spread. The Pistons are the better team, are well rested, and must keep pace with the top six of the Eastern Conference.
Put a unit on the musical Motown Pistons to cover the spread in the soul of the south, the musical city of Austin.
NBA Player Props & Other Picks Today, 2/21
Teams are really in crunch time after the All-Star break, as records become of pinnacle importance.
The schedules also become tougher for teams, and the first match on ESPN is a perfect example of that.
Knicks vs. Cavaliers Prediction: Towns U13.5 Rebounds (-105 on Bet365)
The New York Knicks are currently third in the Eastern Conference, on a three-game win streak, and have won eight of their last ten games. That is something any coach, player, or fan base can be proud of. However, the Cleveland Cavaliers are first in the NBA, on a five-game winning streak, and have won nine of their last ten games… all of which are better than the Knicks.
Both of these teams played in New York yesterday, both were victorious, but the Knicks played into overtime to earn their victory. Now they are playing on the road against the best team in the NBA.
Head Coach Tom Thibodeau is known to have his players in peak physical shape, and to play them often. Karl-Anthony Towns is proof of that, in his first year at New York he is in immaculate shape and having the best season of his career.
Last night he played 43 minutes, scored 32 points, and earned 18 rebounds. A stat line that any basketball fan can appreciate. But can he replicate it against Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley? That seems highly unlikely.
The Cavaliers are a top ten rebounding team allowing just 51.9 per game to opposing teams. Towns’ line is set at 13.5, and earning 14 rebounds against Cleveland’s great front court seems like a long shot. Put a unit on Towns’ under tonight on Bet365, and make sure to take advantage of the promo code below.
