Trae Young did not disappoint, and the NBA best bets double unit hammer was slammed in the third quarter of yesterday’s game. The third quarter flurry by Young was needed as he didn’t score for the rest of the game. The Atlanta Hawks dominated the New York Knicks in the second half, and to Las Vegas in the Emirates 2024 NBA Cup.

Andrew Wiggins did not play last night, that portion of NBA picks was voided but that was unforeseen, and it caused the spread to jump to 4 or 4.5 depending on the book. The Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors match lived up to hype, and there was a unique situation to end the game. The Rockets won, but could not cover the -2 point spread.

Sometimes you have to laugh to yourself, and tip your hat to the bookies. They nailed us with a -2 spread… difficult to achieve but their projecting models are amazing. However, Fantasy Alarm earned the last laugh with a profitable day (+0.67u) in our NBA best bets due to a double unit wager on Young.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 12/12

There are three games today, and they have potential to all be blowouts. This makes navigating bets a little more tricky but that is why I am here. To help navigate this three game slate and find winning NBA predictions.

The bet of the night is a Same Game Parlay in a Western Conference Showdown.

Kings vs. Pelicans Prediction: Sacramento ML & Sabonis 12+ Rebounds (+106 on DraftKings)

As Jamie Foxx says, way up here for the Same Game Parlay! It’s a simple two fold parlay, on a match in the Golden 1 Center as the Sacramento Kings host the New Orleans Pelicans. Both teams find themselves in the bottom third of the Western Conference, and the Pelicans are last.

For that reason, the money line on the Sacramento Kings is a good base for the parlay today. The Kings are currently -7-point favorites and have an opportunity to cover the spread tonight. They average over 11 points per game more than the Pelicans but are 11-14 against the spread this season. For that reason, the money line is the first fold of the parlay.

Domantas Sabonis is, and has been, one of the best rebounders since he entered the league. He is currently averaging 12.7 rebounds per game, which is third this season for players that have played 10 or more games. His line tonight is set, appropriately, at 12.5, but for the purpose of the Same Game Parlay it is teased down.

Sabonis should easily earn his average tonight, but there is a small possibility that the Kings blowout the Pelicans. Should that happen 13 rebounds would be difficult to achieve. On the flip side it is difficult betting the under on one of the best rebounders of this decade, nor is it wise. So a simple tease to remove the hook is suggested.

Sabonis has 12 or more rebounds in six of his last seven games played and the Pelicans do not have a front court that matches his strength and athleticism. Put a unit on the Same Game Parlay and cheer on the big man to grab anything that doesn’t go through the cylinder.

Raptors vs. Heat Prediction: Gradey Dick Over 15.5 Points (-115 on Bet365)

Welcome back Mr. Gradey Dick, he was a frequent mention last month, but the return of Scottie Barnes made Dick’s numbers inconsistent. He was also injured and out for five games, but has played in the Toronto Raptors last three games. Unfortunately Barnes is out with a sprained ankle, but that means Dick has an opportunity for a better performance.

His numbers go up when Barnes is out, but this bet focuses exclusively on his points. The Heat are double digit favorites tonight, and the total is 224.5. Although the lowest of the three games tonight,  there is still an opportunity for several points. Dick is averaging 17.2 points and over thirty minutes per game, which makes it a bit odd that this line is at 15.5.

He did have a bad performance in his most recent game, and perhaps that is what caused the dip in his predicted points. It is a great reason for us to ‘buy the dip’, so grab the chips and cheer on Dick to score early and often against the Miami Heat.

NBA Player Props & Other Picks Today, 12/12

In looking for a good NBA best bets angle in the Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics match, a few pop out. They are heavily juiced and there are several players questionable for tonight's game, including Jayson Tatum.

That leaves too many variables up in the air for a confident bet on juiced lines. Instead, we look at another player prop from the Raptors vs. Heat match.

Raptors vs. Heat Prediction: RJ Barrett Over 1.5 Threes Made (-130 on Bet365)

RJ Barrett will once again step up in the absence of Barnes, commanding the Toronto Raptors. The Kaseya Center in Miami will be rocking, but Barrett should still deliver on 2 made threes. He has the highest point total of anyone in tonight’s game with 24.5, and he will need to make threes to cover that line.

Luckily for him (and us), that is not difficult in the modern NBA. Especially for a guard with scoring abilities such as Barrett’s. He has made 2 or more threes in six of his last seven games, and he will have the ball much more with Scottie Barnes out with an injury.

Barrett is still a great passer, with excellent vision and he has 32 assists in his last four games. However he will need to attempt more field goals with Barnes out, and some of those will be from behind the arc. Miami also has a good defensive front court led by Bam Adebayo, Barrett will have more clear looks further away from the rim.

He has a 34.9% success rate from the three point line, and with the Raptors projected with a +10.5 handicap, they will likely be playing from behind. This should lead to more three point attempts from Barrett, and a predicted successful ticket. Put a unit on a juiced line that has less variables, and let’s get a win.
