Welcome to the NBA Best Bets Today as we take a deep dive into top NBA picks, props, and predictions for Monday, October 28th. There were five games yesterday and four were blowouts, including the unexpected dominance of the Brooklyn Nets over the Milwaukee Bucks. NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 10/28

The NBA’s Sunday slate will be light until after the football season ends, as viewership is generally higher for the NFL compared to every other sport. On Monday, though, there are 11 games with a few teams in back-to-back games and mostly conference games. There are several great options, but we look at unit stacking angles for our NBA Best Bets Today.

There are some unknown expectations on a few of the games today, and Fantasy Alarm will stay away from placing bets in those games. There are a couple of truths from last year carrying over to this year though. One being the two worst teams from the Eastern Conference last year, are once again the worst teams this year.

 

 

 

NBA Parlay Prediction: Monday, 10/28

Sadly the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons are already at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. In fact, they are the only two teams without a victory in their conference. Both games begin at 7:30 PM ET and both teams are on the road. 

The Detroit Pistons currently have a spread of +9, which is the third-highest of the day. They are in the bottom third of the league in points per game with 109.3. Although they have had moments of playing well this season, the Pistons appear to be set up for another disappointing season. 

The Miami Heat actually have a lower points-per-game average than the Pistons, but that is due to their poor home opener. They should have better backcourt offense and jump up early, and the teased down line of -3.5 should be achieved with ease.

The Washington Wizards are playing at State Farm Arena versus the Atlanta Hawks… a contrast of playing philosophies, to say the least. The Wizards have the sixth-lowest points per game with 109.00. Meanwhile, the Hawks have the seventh-highest total with 116.3 points per game. 

Atlanta seems more in a rhythm without Dejounte Murray, and covering the teased down spread should be a breeze against the Wizards. The teased-down, alternate-line spreads come together for plus odds. A great parlay for Monday night.

 

 

 

Pistons vs. Heat Prediction: Monday, 10/28: 

It is not all negativity towards the Pistons from Fantasy Alarm. Jalen Duren was a successful prop wager for us earlier this season, and after laying off his rebounding line the past two Pistons games, we are back on him.  He is averaging over 29 minutes per game and is a heavily involved center who can control the rebounds with his length regardless of the opponent.

He has 29 rebounds in three games and has the highest field-goal percentage in the league. He has made all but two field goal attempts and has two games without missing an attempt. He gets almost all of those points right around the basket, which is where we want our centers for rebounding props. 

The Miami Heat are allowing the third most rebounds per game, with 62.5. Duren will have a clear height advantage over Bam Adebayo and the rest of Miami’s roster. Trust the young, big man from Detroit to come through with 11 or more rebounds on the road.

The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers play each other for the second time in three games. This is going to be another high-scoring battle between two of the Western Conference’s two best teams as we look at NBA picks for tonight's marquee matchup. 

 

 

 

Lakers vs. Suns Prediction: Monday, 10/28 

Anthony Davis is a man on a mission to start the season. He felt snubbed as Defensive Player of the Year last season and has come out on fire on both ends. Expect more of the same today. He is the leading points-per-game player in the NBA with 34.0, and he has 33 rebounds in three games for an average of 11 per game. 

The Lakers have already played the Suns once and we made money on Anthony Davis in that match – now we look to do it again today. Davis had 47 total points, rebounds, and assists in their last matchup. Over 41.5 today seems as easy as taking candy from a baby. 

Jusuf Nurkic can not match up with Anthony Davis. We have seen it throughout this decade during his time with both the Portland Trail Blazers and Phoenix Suns. Davis simply owns him and truthfully owns almost every center not named Nikola Jokic.
