NBA Best Bets & Player Props November 14: Anthony Edwards is Ready to Have a Big Night
It is a Tuesday, and during November that means the NBA In-Season Tournament games take place. These games have been entertaining, and several have gone to the last minute with intensity. There are going to be a few that oppose it, but there is usually a negative person in a crowd. Optimism paired with data-driven decisions makes for a better betting experience, and that is a mantra for Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets. Ten NBA games take place today, four eastern bracket games, and East A has two games in action, and six western bracket games, two per group.
TNT has a double-header (back-to-back marquee games) Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs travel to Oklahoma City to take on Chet Holmgren and the Thunder. The Interstate 35 rivalry with two young teams is a future showcase of the NBA’s premiere talent. Followed by James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers travel to the Mile High City to take on the Denver Nuggets and three-time MVP (including the NBA Finals) Nikola Jokic. In addition, there are two games with rematches from Sunday; Dallas Mavericks at New Orleans Pelicans at 8:00 PM ET and Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors at 10:00 PM ET.
Bet of the Night
Same Game Parlay: Denver Money Line & Nikola Jokic (10+ Rebounds -140 at BetMGM 2 UNITS)
The Denver Nuggets are coming off a terrible loss to the Houston Rockets. It is their second of the season, both of which have been on the road. The Denver Nuggets are back in Ball Arena where they remain undefeated in the 2023-24 season. In fact they have lost only two games, going as far back as the first week of April. The Los Angeles Clippers are in a state of change, with James Harden joining the team. They have lost all four games he has played in, and Ball Arena is the last place to try and turn that around, particularly in a tournament qualifying game.
The arrival of J. Harden has forced the LA Clippers to play small ball, often with one center and four guards/small forwards. This benefits Nikola Jokic, who does not need a benefit for a good night. He is fourth overall in both points and assists, and first overall in rebounds…in the NBA! He has recorded ten or more rebounds in every game this season, and he should well exceed that number tonight. However this game could be a blowout, and if so Nikola Jokic could be rested. Therefore his rebounding line has been teased down from 12.5 to 10 paired with the moneyline giving over a unit return on the bet of the night.
Prop Bet of the Night
Anthony Edwards OVER 26.5 Points (-120 at DraftKings)
There is an NBA In-Season Tournament boost from DraftKings for 25% on any NBA bet tonight. Should you choose to take it, it boosts the odds to +104 but there is a $25.00 limit. Either way, Anthony Edwards being set this low is puzzling. He is averaging 28.4 points per game, which is ranked 12th in the Association. He scored 33 points Sunday night, at the same venue, against the starting lineup of the Golden State Warriors. He has scored 26 or more points in five straight games, and the Timberwolves are playing great defense and getting points off of turnovers.
The Warriors have publicly stated the In-Season Tournament means something to them, it would add to their legacy. That may not matter when the Timberwolves are playing at the high level they have been to begin the season. In fact, the Timberwolves have not lost a game this month, 6-0. This should be an easy cover for the 2020 first overall pick.
Straight Bet of the Night
Dallas Maverick Money Line (-165 at BetMGM)
The Dallas Mavericks are 8-2 on the season and playing in their third In-Season Tournament game. In fact, should they win, Dallas would be 2-1, and increase their point differential, which is only at four. This matters because they currently have the second-highest point differential in group West B, a tough group with the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets. The Dallas Mavericks destroyed the New Orleans Pelicans 136-124, mainly behind Kyrie Irving’s seven made shots from behind the arc. The Pelicans are thin on their bench, and Dallas is playing in good rhythm behind their superstars of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. There is the best center depth in over a decade for Dallas too. They should win this important game against a team they beat earlier this week.
