Today’s MLB DFS coverage is for the ten-game main slate that starts at 12:40 pm ET on DraftKings and 11-games slate that starts at 12:40 pm ET on FanDuel. FD chose to include the game between the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies on their main slate (the rest of the slate is the same). Starting pitching is headlined by Kevin Gausman and Shane McClanahan. We have multiple MLB Weather concerns today, so make sure to keep a close eye on that leading up to first pitch. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!

 

MLB DFS Value Pitcher

Hunter Greene, Cincinnati Reds (DraftKings: $8,000 / FanDuel: $7,100)

Greene has been great lately, scoring 23.6, 38.3, and 24.5 DK points over his last three games. He has racked up at least eight strikeouts in four straight starts and enters this game with 88 K’s across 62 innings pitched this season. He has been a completely different pitcher on the road this season with a 3.11 ERA and 21.4 DK PPG average, compared to a 5.18 ERA at home and a 12.9 DK PPG average. 

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Francisco Alvarez, C, New York Mets (DraftKings: $3,600 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Alvarez is scorching hot right now with four bombs in his last four games and scoring 14, 32, 7, and 14 DK points in that span. He has tied the MLB lead for home runs by a catcher, despite just 136 at-bats on the year. He has huge reverse splits and has smashed righties, slashing .299/.352/.701 against them with 11 of his 12 long balls. He’s also been FAR better on the road with a .958 OPS, compared to a .707 OPS at home. Today he faces a struggling Mitch Keller who has given up 25 hits and 15 runs over his last 17.1 innings. 

Gunnar Henderson, 3B/SS, Baltimore Orioles (DraftKings: $3,400 / FanDuel: $3,000)

Henderson has scored 18, 21, and 17 DK points over his last three games with two home runs and two steals in that span. He is hitting .323 with a 1.009 OPS over his last ten games and now has eight home runs and four steals on the year. He has hit .250 at home this year, compared to .198 on the road. Today he faces a weak combination of Royals pitchers, so I expect Henderson to keep the good times rollin’. 

Ji Hwan Bae, 2B/OF, Pittsburgh Pirates (DraftKings: $2,900 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Bae has been pretty hot over the last couple days, scoring at least 12 DK points in three of his past five, and seven in one of those other two games. He is hitting .271 on the year with two home runs and 19 stolen bases. He has been slightly better at home with a .278 average and .700 OPS, compared to .264 and .664 on the road, respectively. Today he faces Carlos Carrasco, who has a 5.95 ERA and 1.40 WHIP on the year.
