MLB DFS Value Plays July 25: Top DraftKings and FanDuel Picks
Today’s MLB DFS coverage is for the nice big 12-game main slate that starts at 7:05 pm ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Starting pitching is headlined by Pablo Lopez and Blake Snell. We do not have Coors Field on the slate, so you don’t have to keep that in mind when setting lineups. We have a couple mild mlb weather concerns today, so make sure to keep a close eye on the reports leading up to first pitch. Howard is on the playbook today, make sure to give that a read, and don’t forget to check out the MLB Lineups page, Vegas Odds, and all of our MLB DFS Tools. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day and some we can fit into our cash and tournament lineups!
MLB DFS Value Pitchers
George Kirby, Seattle Mariners (DraftKings: $8,700)
Kirby is nearly $2,000 cheaper than the arm opposing him (Pablo Lopez), and you can make the argument that Kirby is the better play regardless of price, so I find his mid-tier price very interesting. He is probably my second favorite pitcher on the slate (behind the incredible Blake Snell). He is coming off an electric start in which he scored 36.8 dk points by tossing seven shutout innings with 10 Ks in a win over these very same Twins.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Wilmer Flores, 1B, San Francisco Giants (DraftKings: $3,400 / FanDuel: $2,900)
Flores is hot as they come right now, hitting .406 with a 1.444 OPS over his last 10 games with five home runs and 16 total R/RBI. He has crushed lefties his whole career and today he gets a terrible lefty in Ken Waldichuk, who has a 6.75 ERA, 1.85 WHIP, and has given up 16 home runs in 80 innings of work this season. Flores should keep the momentum going tonight.
Triston Casas, 1B, Boston Red Sox (DraftKings: $2,800 / FanDuel: $3,000)
Can’t quite afford Flores on DK? Simply want to play two cheap and hot first baseman on FD? Casas is a great option tonight as well. He is even hotter than Flores right now, hitting .452 with a 1.592 OPS over his last 10 games while also hitting five home runs, but with 20 total R/RBI. He has been better at home this year with a .260 average and .826 OPS, compared to .236 and .805 on the road, respectively.
Brett Baty, 3B, New York Mets (DraftKings: $2,500 / FanDuel: $2,600)
Baty has been a bit better of late with three games of double-digit DFS points in his last six games, including a pair of home runs. Tonight, he gets the short porch in RF at Yankee Stadium and is facing a pitcher in German, who has been hurt by the long ball, giving up 17 in 97.2 innings this season. Baty is far from a sure thing tonight, but he could possibly provide a cheap home run.
James Outman, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers (DraftKings: $3,100 / FanDuel: $2,800)
Outman has performed pretty well lately, hitting .267 with a .836 OPS across his last 10 games while registering one bomb and one steal. He has 12 home runs and 10 steals on the year, providing a variety of upside. He has been slightly better from a DFS perspective at home this season and tonight he faces a pitcher who has struggled more with lefty bats than righties this season, as lefties have produced a .891 OPS against Chris Bassitt this season, compared to the .553 mark righties have posted.
