Let’s get aggressive today, shall we? Ohtani is averaging a home run every 15.3 at bats this season. He’s currently homerless over his last 19 at bats which means we are about a game late for Ohtani here if that trend was to continue.

Enter today’s matchup, in Cincinnati against righty Graham Ashcraft. The Great American Ball Park has the highest park factor rating for home runs this season at 125. Using the definition of Park Factor, this means that for batters and pitchers who both played at Great American Ballpark and elsewhere that 25% more home runs were hit in Cincinnati. 

Ashcraft this season has struggled against left-handed hitters, allowing a .370 wOBA, .500 slugging percentage and 2.0 HR/9. Given the venue and the pitching matchup, I’m riding Ohtani to homer here today at a 1.75x payout.

 

 

 

Luis Rengifo Underdog Fantasy MLB Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases (1.1x)

On the season, Rengifo is hitting .440 with a .462 wOBA and a .600 slugging percentage. 

If you are worried about this being a case of a small sample size then just take a look at his last two seasons against lefties as evidence that this is no fluke, with Rengifo averaging a .389 wOBA, .237 ISO and a .550 slugging percentage against southpaws. Today he faces Guardians lefty Logan Allen who is allowing righties to hit .293 with a .512 slugging percentage and a .373 wOBA.
