Allen will miss the remainder of the regular season. The 25-year-old rookie southpaw finishes an impressive rookie campaign in which he posted a strong 3.81 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 119/48 K/BB ratio across 125 1/3 innings (24 starts). While the severity of the shoulder issue remains unclear at the moment, fantasy managers should expect him to be fully healthy for spring training.

Allen didn’t have much luck tonight; he gave up eight hits, only two of which came on hard-hit balls. Still, it would have helped if he could have missed some bats on his way to finishing with just one strikeout. The Tanner Bibee injury would seem to make it less likely that Allen will be shut down before season’s end. However, he’ll probably make just one more start.

Allen surrendered a first-inning RBI single to Luis Matos, but managed to silence San Francisco’s lineup over his final four frames of work. The 25-year-old rookie southpaw has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 18 of his 23 starts this season. He’ll square off against the Royals on Tuesday in his next outing.

Allen was solid against the Angels on Friday, giving up one run across five innings. The one run scored in the fourth on a double and a sacrifice fly. He scatted three hits in all while walking two batters and striking out six. The 25-year-old left-hander will take a 3.68 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and a 113/43 K/BB ratio across 117 1/3 innings into a matchup against the Giants in San Francisco on Wednesday.
