Against righties this year, Burke’s allowed a .280 xBA, .524 xSLG, .391 xwOBA, and .223 ISO. Herrera, against righties this year, is hitting .307 with a .354 wOBA and .801 OPS. Herrera is hitting in the heart of the order for the Cardinals and has a great opportunity to smash this number, making him one of my favorite Underdog MLB Picks of the day.
James Wood MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases (1.11x)
There’s so much to love about James Wood and the Nationals lefties as they square up with Chase Dollander in warm, warm weather. Not only is the weather nearly 90 degrees, there are double-digit MPH winds blowing out too. Dollander stinks against lefties, allowing a .528 xSLG, .375 xwOBA, and .208 ISO. Now, looking at Wood, he’s been super elite against right-handed pitching. He has a .938 OPS, .553 SLG%, .274 ISO, and .406 wOBA against them. Put that in windy, warm conditions.

Nationals claimed RHP Sauryn Lao off waivers from the Mariners.
Lao, 26, was designated for assignment Wednesday after the Mariners recalled Emerson Hancock. The right-hander will be a depth piece in the minors, and look to show enough to potentially contend for a bullpen spot in 2026.
White Sox claimed INF Ben Cowles off waivers from the Cubs.
Cowles has already been optioned to Triple-A Charlotte. The 25-year-old stays in Chicago, but with a (much) different organization. Cowles could compete for a utility spot in 2026.
Jordan Westburg (ankle) is expected to start a rehab assignment in the coming days.
Westburg has resumed all baseball activities, and the 26-year-old should be able to report to Triple-A in the coming days. Barring a setback, he should be able to finish what has been an injury-riddled — but productive when on the field — season.
The Red Sox are expected to place Roman Anthony (oblique) on the injured list prior to Wednesday’s game against the Guardians.
Anthony left Tuesday’s game against Cleveland with tightness in his left oblique, and the expectation is that will keep him out of the lineup for the next week-plus, at minimum. Nick Sogard is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Worcester to replace the 21-year-old rookie. Just how much time Anthony will miss will likely be determined by imaging.
Adolis GarcÃa (quad) is not in Wednesday’s lineup against the Diamondbacks.
GarcÃa, 32, will miss a third-straight game while dealing with his quad injury. The Rangers don’t believe GarcÃa needs a trip to the injured list, but it’s likely he’ll miss at least another game or two before returning.
Roki Sasaki (shoulder) allowed four runs in five innings in a rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Sasaki allowed three hits, two walks and struck out two. The right-hander reached five innings for the first time in his rehab journey, but didn’t exactly dominate while still showing the command issues that plagued him before the injury, as well. Sasaki’s long-term upside is obvious, but it’s hard to imagine he’s going to be a big part of the Dodgers’ rotation in 2025. If/when he rejoins Los Angeles, his usage in leagues will be matchup-dependent.
