Mike Trout Sleeper Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (1.72x)
We’re going to spend a lot of time picking on the White Sox this season, so let’s just get it started right now with Trout beating up righthander Sean Burke. We know Trout isn’t the same player he once was, but he’s still incredibly talented and he’s 100-percent healthy right now.
He had a .389 wOBA against right-handers last season and that number spikes to .422 if you look at his career splits. Burke is a good strikeout pitcher, but struggled through his minor league stops, never posting an ERA below 4.60 at the Double and Triple-A levels. He did not have a strong spring, and Trout should have little to no trouble at all cashing this pick for us.
Garrett Crochet Sleeper Fantasy MLB Pick: Less Than 7.5 Strikeouts (1.61x)
This is simply a question about load-management here for the start of the season. While the strikeouts have been abundant for Crochet, reaching eight on Day 1 seems a little too bullish, even against a Texas team that struck out 24-percent of the time against southpaws last season.
Right now, the Rangers lineup is at full-strength and they’re ready to make a major run at the AL pennant this season. Crochet is a talented pitcher, but it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see manager Alex Cora hold him back a little today.
Total Multiplier: 2.76x
