Blake Snell (San Diego Padres -113)
Favorite Starters to Use for DFS Lineups
For such a small slate, we actually have some crazy good pitchers on it, which is interesting.
Snell is almost certainly winning the NL Cy Young at this point and he continues to dominate opposing lineups. His ERA is down to 2.33 on the year and it’s at 1.80 over his last 10 games. He has 227 Ks in 174 innings and there’s really nothing more you could want out of a DFS option. His ERA is even better on the road than at home too and the Giants have a pitchers park.
Justin Verlander, Houston Astros
JV hasn’t been pitching all that great lately with a 3.73 ERA over his last 10 games and only 55 Ks in 60.1 innings in that span. However, this is still JV and the Astros need a big performance out of him tonight and he’s not a guy afraid to step up in big moments. The Mariners just got swept by the Rangers and the only wins they have over their last 10 games came against the A’s.
Other options that work: Luis Castillo
Recommended DFS Hitters
Highest Expected Run Totals
4.99 – Texas Rangers
4.21 – Los Angeles Angels
4.16 – Seattle Mariners
Favorite Hitters to Use for DFS Lineups
Nolan Schanuel, Los Angeles Angels
There is way too much to like with Schanuel tonight. Starting with his incredibly cheap price, but he also has one of the best matchups on the slate. Jon Gray isn’t bad, but given the pitchers on this slate, he’s one of the worst and he has pitched terrible lately with a 5.81 ERA over his last 10 games. Schanuel is hitting .282 over his last 10 games with a home run.
The Rangers are the chalk offense on this slate and Jung very well could be the highest rostered player tonight and it would not surprise me at all. He is hitting .289 over his last 10 games with a pair of dingers. He has hit lefties well all year and Patrick Sandoval is easily the worst pitcher on this slate. I will eat the chalk here with Jung and differentiate in other spots.
Fernando Tatis Jr., San Diego Padres
Tatis will likely see a bit lower rostership today, given his price tag, the pricing on pitching, and matchup against Webb, but I think that makes for a great reason to play him. He is hitting .333 over his last 10 games with a home run and four steals. He has 25 home runs and 29 steals on the year. He has scored 12 dk points in back-to-back games and can do damage against anyone.
Jarred Kelenic, Seattle Mariners
If you fade JV, Kelenic is a guy that should be in your lineup as a double-down to the fade. He is hitting pretty well right now, hitting .281 with a .425 OBP over his last 10 games with a steal. He offers home run upside as well as stolen base upside, all for a cheap price. Over his last 5 games, he has three games in the double-digits of scoring and is worth a gamble on a small slate like this.
