We have a 4-game MLB DFS main slate on Thursday, August 10th, on DraftKings and FanDuel. It's an interesting slate given the lack of legitimate options. Pitching is topped by Aaron Nola, Clayton Kershaw, and James Paxton. What offenses are really topping the list of elite plays? A lot of ownership is going toward the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Tampa Bay Rays. We will answer any and all of your daily fantasy baseball questions live on air while also talking Vegas odds, ownership percentages, and much more. Player News
Brayan Rocchio is not in the Guardians’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Tigers.
It looks to be just a routine night off for the 24-year-old infielder. Daniel Schneemann will slide over and cover the shortstop position in his absence while Angel Martinez will draw a start at second base and bat ninth against Tigers’ right-hander Reese Olson.
Javier Báez is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Guardians in Cleveland.
Báez has shouldered a heavy workload for the Tigers this season and made a couple of rare gaffes in the field on Thursday evening, so manager A.J. Hinch will give him a breather to reset. Zach McKinstry will slide over and cover shortstop and bat sixth for the Tigers against Guardians’ right-hander Slade Cecconi.
Michael Busch went 4-for-4 with three home runs and five RBI in a 11-3 blowout win over the Cardinals on Friday.
Busch homered in each of his first two at-bats off Miles Mikolas and both were absolutely crushed. They combined to travel 836 feet and each came against fastballs that were grooved right down the middle. Then, he hit a cheapie in the seventh inning off John King, but never got another plate appearance for a chance at what would’ve been a historic fourth homer. All four of his batted balls were hit at least 103 mph and he’s quietly been one of the best hitters in the National League to this point with 19 home runs, 59 RBI, and a .919 OPS. Overall, this has been a monster breakout season for Busch.
Andrés Giménez (ankle) returned to the Blue Jays’ starting lineup for Friday evening’s tilt against the Angels.
The 26-year-old second baseman sat out Thursday’s contest with a minor ankle injury, but he’s right back in there on Friday evening. Giménez will start at second base and bat out of the leadoff spot in the Jays’ lineup against Angels’ right-hander Kyle Hendricks on Friday night.
Colin Rea allowed one hit and one run with two walks and four strikeouts across 6 2/3 innings to earn the victory over the Cardinals on Friday.
As the Cubs lineup knocked in seven runs with six homers over the first three innings of this game, Rea retired the first nine batters he faced. Literally the only blemish on his line was a solo home run by Brendan Donovan to start the fourth inning. Otherwise, he artfully worked the edges of the zone with his fastball and sinker to force plenty of soft contact. He’s lined up to face the Twins next week in his last start before the All-Star break.
Brendan Donovan went 1-for-3 with a solo home run on Friday against the Cubs.
Donovan’s home run stood as the Cardinals only hit in this game until Jon Berti came in to pitch the ninth inning. They were down by seven runs in the blink of an eye and never put up a fight. An incredible start to the season by Donovan gave way to a rough June where he only had a .626 OPS.
