Game 2 of the National League Divisional Series kicks off with a National League East battle between the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers took game one of the series on Saturday, winning 7-5 over the Padres.

The big moment in Game 1 came in the second inning when Shohei Ohtani, playing in his first career playoff game, hit a three run homer in the second inning off of Dylan Cease to tie the game 3-3.

The Padres would eventually take a 5-3 lead before the Dodgers pulled ahead for good with a three run fourth inning.

Before giving our Padres vs Dodgers predictions, lets take a look at the top storylines and pitching matchups.

Padres vs Dodgers Predictions For NL Divisional Round Game 2

The Game 2 matchup between the Padres and Dodgers should be a fun one after how Game 1 went.

The Padres are sending Yu Darvish to the mound while the Dodgers are countering with Jack Flaherty.

Darvish missed a lot of time this season due to injury but in his 16 starts this season he was 7-3 with a 3.31 ERA with 78 strikeouts over 81.2 innings.

The Dodgers went and traded for Jack Flaherty who was with the Tigers to start the year and he did not disappoint,  going 6-2 with a 3.58 ERA while striking out 61 over 55.1 innings over 10 starts as a Dodgers. Overall this season Flaherty went 13-7 with a 3.17 ERA while striking out 194 over 162.0 innings.

Offensively, we know what both lineups bring to the table. Top to bottom, the Padres and Dodgers are complete with power and star power.

In Game 1 we saw the offense win out, in Game 2 we will see if either starting pitcher can hold down the opposing offenses.

San Diego Padres: Can Yu Darvish Limit the Damage?

Despite making just 16 starts this season, three of those came against the Dodgers and Darvish really pitched well, allowing just three runs over 15.2 innings while striking out 12.

Knowing how tough this Dodgers lineup can be, if Darvish can limit the damage done, then the Padres offense should be put in position to get runs on the board.

Los Angeles Dodgers: It's the Shohei Show

Whelp, we didn't need to wait too long for Ohtani to make his playoff impact felt as the National League MVP favorite launched a three run homer in his second at bat to tie the game.

It's the Shohei Show in LA and the playoffs are the platform where the stars  tend to shine the brightest.

Will we get another Ohtani moment here in Game 2?

Padres vs Dodgers Starting Pitcher & Lineup

Yu Darvish, San Diego Padres

Yu Darvish had an interrupted season due to injuries, but when he was on the mound, he delivered solid performances. In his 16 starts, he posted a 7-3 record with a respectable 3.31 ERA, striking out 78 batters across 81.2 innings. His outings against the Dodgers were particularly impressive. Facing them three times, Darvish allowed only three runs over 15.2 innings while striking out 12. These stats reflect his ability to shut down one of the league’s most potent lineups. Darvish’s effectiveness against tough opponents like the Dodgers demonstrates his value to the Padres’ rotation when healthy

Jack Flaherty, Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers' trade for Jack Flaherty has proven to be a solid move. Flaherty, who began the season with the Tigers, posted a 6-2 record with a 3.58 ERA for the Dodgers, striking out 61 batters over 55.1 innings across 10 starts. His overall season numbers are even more impressive: a 13-7 record with a 3.17 ERA and 194 strikeouts over 162 innings.

As he takes the mound against the San Diego Padres tonight, Flaherty will look to build on his previous performance against them, where he allowed three runs and struck out five over five innings. With the Dodgers eyeing a strong postseason run, Flaherty’s consistency and ability to deliver in key matchups will be crucial. Keep an eye on how he handles the Padres' lineup as he seeks to continue his impressive season.

Padres vs Dodgers: Shohei Ohtani to Homer (+180 on DraftKings)

Am I getting greedy after taking the Ohtani homer prop at +220 last night and it hitting? Maybe, but Ohtani's homer is listed at +180 here tonight and we just know he is going to be locked in.

Darvish is also prone to the home run ball, allowing 12 homers in 16 starts this season.
