Mets vs. Braves Prediction: Wednesday, September 25th

Time again to back one of the few teams with something to play for in this final week of the MLB regular season! That team today is the Atlanta Braves who sit just a half-game out of the final Wild Card spot in the National League. They face the New York Mets, who are hoping to keep their spot! As for the game itself, it's close to a toss-up for who will win.

Still, I do love the game total given the pitching matchup and the trends these teams have been on lately. Under 7.5 runs is the initial wager as Chris Sale and his 2.38 ERA take on David Peterson and his 3.08 ERA. Two pitchers at the top of their game should fade away the runs.

The Braves overall have gone under the total in 60.9% of their games this season, the highest rate in the league! The Mets are more middle of the pack at 52% towards the under. Given all the matchups, 7.5 runs just seems like too much.

Another bet to make on this game will be on the arm of Chris Sale! His ERA is impressive but even more so is his play in September where over 4 starts, he has dropped the ERA to 1.13 and has 28 strikeouts! The Mets punch out a little over 22.5% of the time on the road this season so let’s give Sale the backing tonight to go over 6.5 strikeouts, something he has done so many times this season!
