Twins vs. Guardians Prediction: Tuesday, September 17th

It’s the second game of this AL Central rivalry series tonight and after Cleveland took the opening contest the Twins are on shaky ground with just a 1.5-game lead over the Tigers for the last AL Wild Card spot! As for the game tonight though I expect some runs to be scored as the pitching matchup is a putrid one with Zebby Matthews and his 7.11 ERA takes on Gavin Williams and his 5.23 ERA. Starting with Williams his ERA is even worse in the past couple of months allowing 26 earned runs over his last 36.1 innings pitched!

This Twins offense may not be league-best but at 4.7 runs per game, they can make you pay. As for Zebby, he has just 6 starts under his belt since early August and they’ve all been shaky save one outing. The Guardians' offense averages 4.79 runs per game at home, which could get ugly. If you haven’t made out my angle from this let me spell it out, I am hammering the over on this contest tonight and ready for the fireworks. 

Digging a bit deeper into the Zebby well, I also found that he’s gotten torched by lefty bats this season allowing a .386 average and 1.243 OPS! Those are ridiculous numbers that can’t be ignored for me betting this game so let’s add some Jose Ramirez love to the card. Ramirez is hitting .321 over the past 7 games and should continue his streak into tonight. Love taking the over on hits/runs/RBIs in spots like this especially at 1.5! 

Lastly, let’s get some Twins offense on the card with Gavin Williams being a terrible pitcher as well! He struggles at home with a 7.07 ERA and his real problem is right-handed hitters allowing a .279 average at .833 OPS. That means it's wheels up for Royce Lewis who is the only righty bat in the top of the lineup! He is hitting .333 over the past week with 6 hits and a pair of doubles so let’s grab him to go over his hits/runs/RBIs today as well!
