Orioles vs. Marlins Prediction: Wednesday, July 24th

Over the course of a 162-game season, you can’t win them all and that was the case with the Orioles yesterday, who fell to the lowly Marlins. That happens, but I highly doubt a team that is 30-18 on the road this season loses back-to-back and especially against a pitcher like Edward Cabrera! 

In fact, let’s start the MLB best bets for today on this game with Cabrera as he’s failed to go 5 innings since April 21st and, with the Orioles offense scoring the most runs per game in MLB on the road at 5.33, I think that it’s a safe bet to take him under 14.5 outs recorded tonight. Now to the Orioles side of things, and simply put, I am taking the money line straight up as the value is fantastic given the matchup. 

Adding to that though is a prop on Gunnar Henderson, who is mashing right handers this season with a .304 average and OPS of .982. He’s going to hound the Marlins pitching tonight and as his hits+runs+RBIs prop sits at the standard 1.5, that should be an over to smash on your betting ticket tonight. 

 

 

 

Diamondbacks vs. Royals Prediction: Wednesday, July 24th

Going back to the well on this series as it presents many betting avenues for our MLB predictions, but with Ryne Nelson on the mound for the DBacks, it's looking like a juicy matchup for the Royals offense. As I wrote yesterday, the Kansas City offense at home is scary good with 5.22 runs scored per game, and after being held in check last night, it's time to break out again. 

Nelson has been better in July with a 2.22 ERA, but he hasn’t faced an offense like this, so give me the Royals team total over 4.5 runs. The next wager here is continuing to ride the Bobby Witt train as he’s on a warpath with 13 hits in the last 5 games, and you should always ride a hot bat. His hits+runs+RBIs prop continues to be a little high though, so let’s go with total bases as he’s hit the over on 1.5 in 5 straight and against right-handed pitching is hitting .338 with an OPS of .933! 

Then there’s attacking Ryne Nelson on the mound tonight, who I expect to get chased early on in the game given his dependence on strikeouts. Seeing as the Royals punch out just 18.7% of their at bats, he will need to put the ball in play to get outs and, against this offense, good luck with that. Give me under 17.5 outs recorded for Nelson tonight.
