If you’re looking for the top MLB Best Bets and Props today, you’re in the right place here at Fantasy Alarm! With everyone expecting a big Fourth of July weekend extravaganza, MLB has turned its Monday slate into a short, three-game affair.

Hunter Brown and the Houston Astros start things off at 3 PM ET with a game against the Toronto Blue Jays, followed up by an early-evening game between the New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals and then closed out in Coors Field as the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Rockies.

With just three games, we’ll see what the latest Vegas odds and lines are, but obviously, this will be a light betting day.

MLB Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 7/1

We closed out a strong rebound week and Friday’s MLB predictions carried us back into the green for the whole season. That’s exactly where we want to be. OK, yes, we want to be even further into the green, but we’ll get there by season’s end.

What’s important is we nailed a number of pitcher props for strikeouts, and we hit some key game bets with the Brewers and Nationals. Now it’s time to begin our climb. Again, likely a short betting day in today’s MLB best bets with just three games, but we’re ready to tear it up.

  • Friday’s Record: 8-4
  • Season Record: 281-249-6

Astros vs. Blue Jays Prediction: Monday, July 1

You can tell what the expectations are by the way Vegas has the odds and lines juiced for this matchup. Hunter Brown has been fantastic lately, tossing seven straight quality starts and posting a 1.16 ERA over 31 innings in June. He has completely turned around his season but does face a tough matchup here against a surprisingly hot Blue Jays team.

The edge, however, goes to Brown for me because, while the Jays have hit the ball well recently, they are also striking out 25.6-percent of the time, so they are being extremely aggressive at the plate. On the other side, starting for Toronto is Yariel Rodriguez and his 5.40 ERA and 1.92 WHIP.

He’s not going to go deep into this game and hasn’t thrown more than four innings in any appearance this season. On top of that, he’s walking a lot of guys and has now allowed six earned runs in his last five innings. The Astros bats should take advantage early, and my MLB picks today will plan to capitalize on exactly that.

That’s all the MLB predictions I have for right now but keep checking in with our Discord as maybe some value pops up once the actual lineups are announced!
