Wednesday brings along another loaded MLB schedule with games going on all day long. As always, we have your MLB best bets and MLB betting picks as you dive into some sports wagering today. Howard Bender is out again, but that doesn't mean the MLB daily picks stop! I went 1-1 yesterday, so let's try to make it 2-0 today. We'll target both the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays. Let's now dive into the MLB picks and best bets for Wednesday, April 19th. Good luck!

Texas Rangers at Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals have become one of those auto-fade teams to bet against with arguably the worst offense in baseball and a pretty poor pitching staff as well. After losing 12-2 last night to Texas, the Royals are now 3-14 this season with five straight losses and a 1-8 record over the past nine games. Kansas City’s offense is dead-last in the MLB in wOBA (.263), wRC+ (59), batting average (.202), and OPS (.590). Expect Rangers starter Martin Perez to have plenty of success against the KC lineup. Perez has a 2.87 ERA in three starts thus far and has faced much tougher offenses in the Astros, Phillies, and Cubs.

On the other side, Kansas City starter Brady Singer has struggled to a 7.88 ERA and he’s given up 13 runs and 18 hits combined over the past two starts. The Rangers can provide Perez with enough run support in this matchup against the KC righty. Texas is among the top 10 in the MLB in wOBA and wRC+ against right-handed pitching over the past week.

PICK: Texas Rangers ML (-105 BetMGM Sportsbook)

Toronto Blue Jays at Houston Astros

On the surface, Jose Berrios is having a terrible start to the season with a 7.98 ERA. Yes, he’s given up 13 earned runs in 14.2 innings so far, but there are a few reasons to expect some better outings moving forward. First, the Blue Jays starter has an impressive 2.37 FIP, and that differential of 5.61 from the ERA is extremely notable. It means Berrios has gotten very unlucky at times, and his low 34% strand rate and high .419 BABIP suggest as much. Let’s bank on Berrios having some of that positive regression tonight against the Astros. This Houston lineup isn’t as strong as you’d think and it’s just middle-of-the-pack against right-handed pitching this season. The Astros were held to just two runs last night in a Toronto win.

Meanwhile, Houston starter Luis Garcia comes in with a 7.71 ERA and 5.68 FIP. Though the Blue Jays aren’t the strongest against left-handed pitching, Garcia is getting hit hard right now. He’s given up at least six hits and three runs in all three starts so far with career-highs in hard-hit rate (42%) and barrel percentage (11%). Bank on the Jays to be the next offense to plate a handful of runs against Garcia while Berrios rebounds on the pitching front.
