Sam Stevens played his way into the U.S. Open and then withdrew from the field at this week's RBC Canadian Open.

Sam Stevens sprinted to the finish line at the Valero Texas Open, styling a 6-under 66 to reach 14-under 274 good for a runner-up finish on the final leaderboard.

Overnight co-leader Sam Stevens scribbled a 3-under 69 in the final round of the Corales Championship, ending on 17-under 271 which landed two shots shy of the winning tally of Matt Wallace.

Sam Stevens matched the low round of the day on the host course, penciling a bogey-free, 6-under 66 in round one of the Farmers Insurance Open, good for T5 at the day's end.
