Justin Abdelkader signed a tryout contract with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL Friday.

Justin Abdelkader has been named the captain of the United States National team, currently playing at the World Championships in Latvia.

Justin Abdelkader has been drawing interest from teams as an unrestricted free agent. 

The Detroit Red Wings have put Justin Abdelkader on unconditional waivers with the intention of buying him out.
