2024 Player Outlook
Purdy followed up his impressive rookie season with an offseason of question marks after he had elbow surgery to repair the UCL injury he suffered during the NFC Championship. How did he answer those questions? He went an completed 69.4% of his passes for 4,280 yards and 31 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. He led the league in QBR, QB Rating and TD%. He was 4th in MVP voting and for a while he was looking like he might end up winning the award. With an impressive first full season under his belt, there is no reason to think he can't repeat. The 49ers offense is loaded with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. They then went and added Ricky Pearsall in the first round of the draft, an insurance policy in case they had to or planned to move on from Samuel or Aiyuk. Unless he throws for 40 touchdowns, the lack of rushing upside is going to likely prevent him from being a top five fantasy QB but I see no reason he isn't a guy that finishes inside the top 10 this season.
