Charles is signing a one-day contract to retire with the Chiefs, 610 Sports Radio KC reports.

Charles is expected to see his workload gradually increase as the season unfolds, Mike Klis of 9 News Denver reports. "That's always the plan with Jamaal as we go forward in the season," Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said, in reference to the likelihood of staggering Charles' workload. "He'll get more and more touches."

Charles (knee) agreed to terms with the Broncos on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The running back's one-year deal is worth up to $3.75 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
