2025 Player Outlook

Speed is the name of Scott’s game, and while he stole just five bases in 53 games last year, we’d be remiss to not mention the fact that he stole 94 bases in 132 games across A+ and AA in 2023. He hit just .179 with a 27.1 percent strikeout rate last season, so he’ll need to cut back on the strikeouts and get on base more often so that his best asset can shine. St. Louis is going to give him a chance to hold down an everyday role in center field, but his porous stats against southpaws could push him into a platoon role as the year goes on. He has the speed to easily steal 40+ bases in a season, but that won’t happen if he hits below the Mendoza line or has an OBP that isn’t much better. Spring training will be big for the young lefty.
