2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: After nearly a decade in the minors, Azocar debuted for the Padres in 2022, appearing in 98 games for the team. Last season, he appeared in 55 games, slashing .231/.278/.363 with two home runs and eight stolen bases. His expected statistics paint a much better picture than his actual numbers, and his quality of contact last year was improved compared to 2022. He doesn't loft the ball much, and his 47.9 percent O-Swing rate from last season is concerning.
2024 Outlook: A strikeout rate north of 25 percent in 2024 wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. While he has a path to regular at bats in the bottom-third of the team's lineup, he's a low-end fantasy asset that won't help much outside of the deepest of NL-only setups. His "calling card" if you will for fantasy will be his stolen base total, but outside of that, you're not getting much from this San Diego outfielder.
