2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: The late-blooming outfielder finally got a real shot at MLB playing time with Washington in 2023 and didn’t disappoint. He slashed .269/.343/.457 with nine HR, 40 each R and RBI, and three steals in the 89 games he played. Garrett’s season was cut short due to a gruesome broken leg but the half-season sample size we got was still worth 1.2 fWAR. Despite having a 30.3-percent K-rate, Garrett made a lot of good contact posting a .365 BABIP and above-average 91.1 mph EV.
2024 Outlook: Garrett is unlikely to be ready for the beginning of the season with the broken fibula still requiring rehab. So we’re looking at about another half a season for the outfielder. When he’s on the field though, the power-speed combo will play well with the potential for double-digit homers and 5-8 SB depending on how often they let him run on the surgically repaired leg.
