Gimenez has apparently retired from professional baseball after joining the Dodgers' organization as their game-planning coach ahead of the 2019 season, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.

Gimenez was recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

Gimenez was traded from the Cubs to the Twins on Thursday in exchange for Bobby Wilson (ankle) and a player to be named later or cash, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Gimenez cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
