2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: It was a fall from grace in 2023 for Carpenter following his resurgence in 2022 with the New York Yankees. He remained an OBP machine, posting a .322 mark in lieu of a putrid .176 average. He's posted a double-digit walk rate in every season of his lengthy professional career and his Statcast metrics have enjoyed sizable jumps since retooling his swing a few years back. However, as he's gotten older, his exceptional bat-to-ball skills he displayed early on his career have waned a bit, and last year's 73.4 percent contact rate was his lowest mark since 2020, and the second-worst mark in his entire career.
2024 Outlook: In 2024, he'll serve as one of the team's top pinch-hitting options against right-handed pitching and can fill at first base if something were to happen to Paul Goldschmidt. He's off the fantasy radar at this juncture.
