Brian Dozier announced his retirement from baseball on Thursday morning.

Dozier signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Sunday that includes an invitation to big-league camp, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Dozier went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 5-2 victory against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Dozier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
