2025 Player Outlook

Amaya only hit .232 in 117 games last year, but he hit eight home runs, drove in 47 runners, and posted a sub-18 percent strikeout rate. While he ended the year on a high note, hitting .271 over his final 48 games, he had significant splits against left-handed pitching, and the team’s acquisition of Carson Kelly likely signifies that Amaya will be in a platoon behind the dish for Chicago in 2025. Outside of NL-only or deeper two catcher setups, Amaya is likely not going to be on your draft board.
