Abrams delivered a two-out, two-run double off of Taylor Rogers in the seventh inning that transformed a 2-1 lead into a 4-1 advantage. That would be his only hit in four trips to the plate in the ballgame. For the season, the dynamic 24-year-old shortstop is now slashing .284/.333/.523 to go along with four homers, 13 RBI and six stolen bases.

Abrams 17/3 K/BB in 73 plate appearances isn’t what anyone is looking for from a leadoff man, but he’s batting .279 and slugging .559 to date. He has a 43% hard-hit rate, and he collected his seventh barrel on the triple tonight.

Abrams struck out three times and did not have a great game overall, but he laced a game-tying single off of Ryne Stanek in the bottom of the ninth inning and then came around to score on a throwing error by Pete Alonso later in the inning. Abrams has gotten off to a slow start to the season while battling a hip injury, but he should right the ship here soon.
