2024 Player Outlook
2023 Recap: Thomas fell just one home run and one stolen base shy of joining the 10/10 club last year, and over 125 games, he slashed .230/.273/.374. Thomas has an elevated willingness to leave the strike zone, and there is some swing-and-miss in his game, especially outside of the zone. When he does make contact, he's a ground ball machine, and in his two seasons in the majors, he has a career 2.25 GB/FB ratio and 56.8 percent ground ball rate.
2024 Outlook: He's a platoon risk as the year goes on, as he hit just .143 with a 27.2 percent strikeout rate and .435 OPS against LHP last season, but at least to begin the season, Arizona doesn't have a platoon partner to go with Thomas. He'll get plenty of at-bats in the bottom-third of the Arizona lineup, and he has a good chance to join the 10/10 club that he just barely missed last season. In leagues that value OBP, his fantasy value takes a bit of a hit.
