UFC Fight Night DFS Picks & Lineups: Yan vs. Figueiredo Cheat Sheet, 11/9
Main Event UFC DFS Picks
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Petr Yan vs. Deiveson Figueiredo | 9000/7200 | - | Stackability: Low | -320/250 | 180./600. |
A great fight ends the card this week, and with the Main Card starting in the middle of the night, at least we should all be awake for this banger of a fight. Petr Yan always starts slow so I'm expecting him to drop the first round or two here but then turn it up. The problem with that is that Figueredo is a notoriously quick starter so if he can deal out enough punishment Yan might not be able to recover in time. I think that Yan wins this fight more often than not but I'm going to be splitting these lineups pretty evenly.
Expensive UFC DFS Picks
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Lone'er Kavanagh | 9400 | Jose Ochoa | Somewhat-Safe | -370 | 110. |
Kavanagh has a ton of talent, and I expect him to put that on full display here. Ochoa is a tough out, but Kavanagh should be able to get the KO here.
Wang Cong | 9600 | Gabriella Fernandes | Somewhat-Safe | -900 | 130. |
Cong is an extremely high-level kickboxer, holding a win over Valentina Shevchenko so if these stays standing, she dominates the fight. She also has some submission victories on her record, but if she has her way here it is a striking battle. My only concern is we are going back to the "new" gloves the UFC had created here and there weren't any female KOs with those gloves so that is my only concern.
Zhang Mingyang | 9100 | Ozzy Diaz | Somewhat-Safe | -350 | -250 |
This fight should end in a KO, and while I think either guy can get it, Zhang is the one who should be able to land cleanly to start the fight. I'll probably be taking a personal bet on Diaz by KO at his huge odds, but Zhang wins this fight and scores 100+ more times than Diaz does.
Carlos Ulberg | 8900 | Volkan Oezdemir | Moderate | -235 | 110. |
There are a ton of unknowns on this card so I'm sticking with the favorites I have confidence in. Ulberg is quicker and has a better gas tank than Oezdemir so he can get this win early or late. We have seen that he has the ability to land 100+ significant strikes in a fight and if this goes to a decision I wouldn't be surprised if he lands closer to 150.
Maheshate | 8700 | Nikolas Motta | Moderate | -190 | 130 |
Maheshate pushes a pace that breaks his opponents the later the fight goes. Motta isn't the most durable so even in Round 1 he is live for the KO. I expect him to survive early and turn up the volume in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to get the late finish.
Mid-Range UFC DFS Picks
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Carlos Hernandez | 8600 | Nyamjargal Tumendemberel | Moderate | -180 | 300. |
I'm a sucker for Carlos Hernandez. He is a well-rounded fighter, and while he struggles when he fights someone who really excels in one area like Tatsuro Taira, he can hang with any mid-level fighter. I expect him to win this fight as long as he avoids the power coming back at him.
Quang Le | 8000 | Xiao Long | Moderate | +100 | 350. |
I hate picking someone because they looked good in a loss, but the UFC did Quang no favors in his debut when he was forced to step in on short notice against a fringe top 15 fighter in Chris Guttierez. Quang showed he had some wrestling, some power, and did enough to win a round against a seasoned UFC veteran. This is a major step back in competition, and while I think this fight should be close, Quang should have learned enough from his last outing to win this fight.
Song Kenan | 7700 | Muslim Salikhov | Somewhat-Risky | 150 | 450. |
Salikhov is someone who gets caught staring too much and he is getting up there in age. This is going to be a low volume fight if Salikhov has his way, but I could see Kenan upping the pace. He is a defensive liability, but he should be the fighter doing more.
SuYoung You | 8300 | Baergeng Jieleyisi | Somewhat-Risky | -180 | 275. |
The level of competition for a lot of these fighters is suspect, but I've at least seen You shoot for takedowns a bunch. He looks like someone who is going to go out there and wrestle, and we know on DK that is where the points are. It is extremely hard to know how good his wrestling is when he is a few fights removed from fighting competition that held 6-10 records, but we at least know his game plan and if he is successful, he'll score well.
Kiru Sahota | 7800 | DongHun Choi | Somewhat-Risky | -115 | 375. |
Kiru has a 7-inch reach advantage here and is the favorite at $7800. He is probably going to be highly owned because of that, but he should win this fight and on a card with so many question marks the ownership may be subdued due to him not being one of the fighters people have seen before.
Muslim Salikhov | 8500 | Song Kenan | Somewhat-Risky | -175 | 185. |
Salikhov is facing someone extremely hittable, and he has a ton of power. If he doesn't get a KO, he isn't going to pay off his price, but with the way Song fights he could land the perfect shot and score huge.
Baergeng Jieleyisi | 7900 | SuYoung You | Risky | 140 | 400. |
Jieleyisi is the much longer and taller fighter and has some wrestling of his own. He should be one of the lower owned fighters on the card with a favorite priced $100 less than him so if you want to get unique in your lineup this is probably your play, but he has a tough test in front of him if he can't get You off of him.
Pay-Down UFC DFS Picks
Fighter(s) | Price | Opponent | Risk | Odds | ITD |
Nyamjargal Tumendemberel | 7600 | Carlos Hernandez | Somewhat-Risky | 150 | 275. |
Nyamjargal has the power advantage here, but he isn't going to be as technically sound as Hernandez. He throws a lot of volume for someone who is going to focus on wrestling so if he does win, he should score extremely well.
Nikolas Motta | 7500 | Maheshate | Somewhat-Risky | +155 | 330. |
Motta has power but he waits too long to throw it. Maheshate is hittable early on in fights so if Motta lets his strikes go, he will land clean, but knocking out Maheshate is a tough task.
Tabatha Ricci | 7400 | Yan Xiaonan | Risky | +190 | 900. |
She is probably the underdog with the largest advantage in one aspect of MMA and that is her wrestling. She needs to get takedowns early and we have seen Yan struggle to get back on the feet once she gets taken down. On the feet she will throw punches but there isn't anything on them.
Ozzy Diaz | 7100 | Zhang Mingyang | Risky | 275 | 300. |
Ozzy has faced the better competition than Zhang, and he has just as much power. His odds are much lower than some of the fighters priced only a few hundred more than him, but his ITD is as good as his ML so expect fireworks from someone in this fight.
Volkan Oezdemir | 7300 | Carlos Ulberg | Risky | 195 | 400. |
Five years ago, Oezdemir probably wins this fight but he's starting to slow down. Ulberg is going to be too quick for him, but we have seen Ulberg gas out going for finishes before so if Oezdemir can land a few power shots once he starts to slow down, he could win the fight.
Gabriella Fernandes | 6600 | Wang Cong | Risky | 625 | +1,400 |
She knows she has to wrestle, and that will be a tough task to get on the inside for it but at least she has a clear path to success, but I don't think it will be enough.
Jose Ochoa | 6800 | Lone'er Kavanagh | Risky | 290 | 550. |
We've seen hyped up prospect bust before, and while Kavanagh is the cleaner striker, if Ochoa makes this a brawl and takes him late, we don't know how he will react to adversity.
Shi Ming | 7000 | Feng Xiaocan | Risky | 300 | +1,200 |
Ming is giving up a ton of size and doesn't have enough power to get a finish from what I've seen. I won't be playing her in any lineups as she'll need to win and have no one else around her prize get a win/finish.
