UFC Fight Night DFS Picks & Lineups: Edwards vs. Brady Cheat Sheet, 3/22

UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Brady takes place this Saturday live from The O2 Arena in London England. The card kicks off with the Prelims at 1:00PM EST on ESPN+ and the Main Card at 4:00PM on ESPN+. 

The Main Event features a former Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards taking on up and coming grappler Sean Brady. The Co-Main Event features former Lightweight Champion Jan Blachowicz against Carlos Ulberg as Jan makes his return after two years off due to injury.

UFC Fight Night DFS Picks & Lineups: Edwards vs. Brady Cheat Sheet, 3/22

Main Event UFC DFS Picks

Leon is the better striker, and if he keeps it standing for 15+ minutes he is going to win this fight. Brady has good wrestling, but he doesn't throw much volume on the feet. On DraftKings Brady is a lock in a win to hit the optimal lineup, his over/under takedown line on DraftKings is set at 5.5 so even in a decision win he is going to score a ton of points if he hits those numbers. Edwards is going to be landing more significant strikes but that won't score as well as Brady's wrestling. If Leon wins a decision, I expect him to score between 80-90pts but at his price that is more than enough. I'm leaning Brady this week but especially in Leon's home country, I wouldn't be shocked if he won this fight either.

Expensive UFC DFS Picks

This is a greasy week for the high-priced fighters as a bunch of them have only 1-2 UFC wins. CLD has a bunch of power and can end this fight quickly. Pulyaev puts up decent volume, and that should turn this into a firefight. I have CLD to win by KO, he has as high of a ceiling as anyone on the card outside of Brady.

Vucenic has a ton of power, and Chris Duncan has had durability concerns with the way he deals with damage. I think Vucenic gets the KO win, but Duncan is a better fighter than Pulyaev, so I have him a little below CLD.

Kutateladze should be closer to a -200 but his best path to victory is to wrestle so he still makes for a strong play. He's gone the distance and been in close fights with some of the top 10 of the division, so while I don't think he gets the finish, he should still score well if he can get 3+ takedowns in a decision.

Ulberg is the younger, faster fighter, and with Jan being 42 years old and coming off of an injury he should be able to dominate if this stays on the feet. Jan is the better wrestler, but Ulberg can probably avoid them. He is a tier below the other three as in a decision victory he probably doesn't get to 85pts.

Her best path to victory is wrestling and using her submission skills, which is something Molly has struggled with in the past. I'll be betting on her to win by submission, and I think she gets it done within the first two rounds.

Mid-Range UFC DFS Picks

I am irrationally confident that this is the fight that Kevin Holland gets back on track. I have a bet on him to win, a bet on him to win by KO at +300, and he's going to be in my DFS lineups. He's back to fighting at 170lbs, and Nelson has never been great at wrestling which is Holland's weakness. If this does hit the ground Holland is in trouble, but I think he ends it before it gets there.

Parkin is the better boxer, but Tybura has faced better competition and is a better wrestler if he decides to use it. Both of these men are the rare heavyweight who go to decision as much as they finish their fights so this could be a low scoring heavyweight battle, but I expect Tybura to win it.

This is going to be a close fight. Herbert is someone who at his best can score a knockdown on Ilia Topuria, but at his worst he's getting knocked out against 40-year-old Francisco Trinaldo. Padilla will have to weather some adversity but if he drags Jai into deep water, he should be able to win the fight late.

This fight is going to be close and should go to a decision. Both of these guys can wrestle well so we'll likely know early on who is having more success with their takedowns and they'll be the one to run away with the fight. If it stays standing, I am going to trust Caolan because he seems like the more durable fighter.

Herbert is the more technical striker and has more power, but Padilla is going to look to make this a greasy fight. Herbert has fought the much better competition and has only been in close fights, so I expect another one here. If the prices were flipped, I would prefer Jai but at $400 more and with worse ITD he isn't as good of a play as Taco Padilla.

Parkin is the better boxer, but he hasn't shown KO power in this division yet. If this fight stays standing, he should be able to win, but unless he gets the KO, he won't score more than 70pts in a win.

Fletcher is the much better grappler, winning almost all of his fights by submission, but if Loughran can either keep it standing or end up on top Fletcher is going to struggle. This is a rematch from when they were amateurs and Caolan was able to win, and I see it playing out similarly.

Pay-Down UFC DFS Picks

Wood has a ton of talent, but his move to 145lbs hasn't been great. Charriere is someone who constantly goes to split decisions so this will be a close fight. Wood is going to have more volume, Charriere is going to land the more impactful shots, it's up to the judges to score it at that point and for $7500 that is a great price for Wood.

Jan at his best dominates this fight. He is someone who has gone to decision and arguably beat both Ankalaev and Pereira, so he has the skills to win this fight. Coming off a two-year layoff due to injury he may not be the best version of himself, but if his wrestling is still there, he could slow down Ulberg and win the fight.

I don't like Bannon's skill set and Tomar is a massive odds value at +140 for $7400. Bannon can be taken down, and while that isn't Puja's plan A it is good to have it as a backup if needed. She's my favorite Pay-Down in terms of win equity this week, and while her ceiling isn't as high as some of the other fighters, she should do enough to score 70+ in a win and that might be good enough for her price.

McCann is the hometown fighter so she should be getting the roar from the crowd. She throws a lot of volume, isn't scared to throw spinning attacks, and has decent power. I think she probably gets taken down and controlled here but if this fight stays close the judges likely give it to her.

Dos Santos is tough but has really struggled with getting taken down in the UFC. His UFC debut was against Manel Kape who looks to be next in line for a title shot so he's faced better fighters than Lone'er before and was able to hold his own. His volume on the feet can be really high if he isn't worried about takedowns and he may get that chance here.

Duncan has power and wrestling but his chin hasn't been great. If he can avoid the big power of Vucenic then this could play out closer to 50/50, but I think that is a big if here.

Fernandes could be catching Guram at the right time as he hasn't looked good later on in his last two fights. Fernandes was dominated by takedowns in his UFC debut, and I expect Guram to go for them here, but if for some reason this becomes a kickboxing match, Fernandes is a very live dog.

This is a big step up in competition for Pulyaev. His striking volume is decent for his size, but he isn't going to have an advantage in any area over Duncan. If he wins it's probably by KO, but it's more likely he is the one getting KO'd.
