In Monday’s Women’s World Cup DFS Playbook, we discussed how unusual it was to pursue the same lineup strategy across both DraftKings and FanDuel. Tuesday’s two-game WWC DFS slate is proving to be just as unusual. I almost always play defenders from different teams in the DEF spots on both sites. In fact, I usually only play a defender in the UTIL spot if they play on different teams than my other starting defenders.

On Tuesday’s slate, most of the starting defenders either have poor matchups or they are listed in a different position. As they say, desperate times call for desperate measures, so it is possible, perhaps even likely, that I will stack defenders. This is especially true on FanDuel, where the Morocco defenders are underpriced and have a fantastic matchup. I might be able to spread my defenders out a bit more on DraftKings, but I could easily wind up with a French stack, especially in tournaments. Let's now look at the top World Cup DFS soccer picks on DraftKings and FanDuel for Tuesday morning's matches.

Women's World Cup DFS Soccer Picks August 7

Goalkeepers

Rebecca SpencerJAMCOL420018.641024.17
I think Columbia is better as an underdog than as a favorite, as evidenced by their uninspiring loss to Morocco their last time out. Spencer still hasn't allowed a goal while recording 17 saves. Even if this is the game she finally concedes, she should record enough saves to return value.
Pauline Peyraud-MagninFRAMAR59004.63135.83
Morocco did very well to get to this point, and I don't entirely trust France going forward, but it is hard to imagine a scenario in which France doesn't win in regulation. We're probably getting a clean sheet as well, and the price isn't ridiculous.
Forwards
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Khadija ShawJAMCOL57003.79179.40
Shaw has had a quiet World Cup so far, due in part to missing the Panama game with a red card. This is by far Shaw's best matchup of the tournament, and he is underrated as a result. That being said, she is still risky on both sites.
Kadidiatou DianiFRAMAR1100021.822135.17
She is probably overpriced, especially on FanDuel, after she scored three of France's six goals against Panama. Of course, Morocco allowed six goals against Germany, so we can't rule out a repeat performance entirely. Her performance against Panama was especially encouraging after she failed to finish against Brazil. Diani is probably the safest premium attacker on both sites.
Mayra RamirezCOLJAM68008.951513.93
Ramirez is averaging 3.0 crosses and 3.3 shots through three games. She is still looking for her first goal involvement, but she has a high floor on DraftKings considering her price and position.
Midfielders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Leicy SantosCOLJAM520011.971719.97
Santos is probably Columbia's safest attacker on both sites. She created at least two chances in every game, while averaging two crosses and 1.67 shots.
Kenza DaliFRAMAR86009.941516.70
Dali had seven crosses, two chances created and a shot on goal in both games despite playing just 24 minutes against Jamaica. She is arguably the safest player on the entire DraftKings slate.
Fatima TagnaoutMARFRA50006.361214.33
Barring a surprise or two when lineups are announced, there aren't any value plays I love on either site. Tagnaout had two crosses and three chances created against Germany, so we know she is certainly capable of providing some fantasy points Tuesday.
Defenders
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Manuela VanegasCOLJAM550010.841328.37
Vanegas scored at least 8.4 DK fantasy points in all three games, and she had four crosses and one chance created against Morocco. Only four teams have allowed more crosses than Jamaica, and Vanegas should do well in this matchup despite the inflated price.
Nesryne El ChadMARFRA26004.221116.70
El Chad's averages are deflated because she played just eight minutes against Germany, but she had at least 23.1 FD fantasy points in both starts. This is an even better matchup than those games, and I have no idea why her price is so low. I'll pivot to Benzina if I have to, but El Chad looks like the better value.
Nouhaila BenzinaMARFRA25004.571018.30
An underrated storyline from this tournament is how Morocco's fortunes completely changed when El Chad and Benzina joined the starting lineup, moving Hanane Ait El Haj outside. Only Spain and the U.S. have allowed more clearances per 90 minutes than France, and Benzina has at least 17.2 FD fantasy points in both starts.
Selma BachaFRAMAR700020.371924.60
Bacha is a forward on FanDuel, a defender on DraftKings and she started in the midfield against Brazil. She is playable on FanDuel but I really like her on DraftKings. If you're not going to be awake before lineup lock you might want to pivot to Sakina Karchaoui, but Bacha should be a much better value.
Wendie RenardFRAMAR650011.021425.40
This is a lot to pay for a defender who doesn't send in crosses and faces the team that has allowed the second-fewest clearances in the tournament. That being said, Renard is a great target on set pieces, having already scored once this tournament. She is risky and expensive but if you have extra money to spend or you want to chase upside, Renard has plenty.
