Rafael Campos defied all odds to claim victory at the Bermuda Championship on Sunday, breaking a streak of 13 missed cuts in his previous 15 starts. His inspiration? The birth of his daughter just days before the tournament.

Critics may dismiss the “Nappy Factor” as a myth, but Campos’ emotional triumph was undeniable. The win not only secured his PGA TOUR card for the next two years but also ended a difficult 2024 on a high note.

Sea Island Resort: Course(s) Breakdown This Week

Established in 1928 along Georgia’s Southern coastline, Sea Island Resort has become a haven for professional golfers. Known for its rich history, world-class training facilities, and idyllic weather, the resort blends tradition with modernity through continuous course updates. Its two primary courses, Seaside and Plantation, offer distinct challenges while showcasing Southern charm.

The Seaside Course, a 1929 Harry Colt design renovated by Tom Fazio in 1999, is a par-70 layout just over 7,000 yards. Situated along the Atlantic Ocean, it features coastal winds, water hazards on 14 holes, and narrow fairways that demand accuracy off the tee. Its TifEagle Bermudagrass greens are large and relatively flat, rewarding players who hit greens in regulation. Birdie opportunities arise on short par-4s and two reachable par-5s.

The Plantation Course, reimagined by Davis Love III in 2019, offers a parkland style with wider fairways and four scorable par-5s. Its smaller, undulating greens are well-protected by bunkers, and the closing stretch features short par-4s and a 150-yard par-3, ideal for low scores.

Course history highlights the importance of fairway accuracy, conservative approach shots, and strong putting. With past winners posting scores around -20, success hinges on converting mid-range putts and avoiding hazards.

The RSM Classic 2024 Field: Golf DFS

This week’s RSM Classic is critical for many PGA TOUR players, as the FedExCup Fall concludes with the cut-off for the top 125. Defending champion Ludvig Åberg returns after knee surgery in September, aiming to become the event’s first back-to-back winner. Åberg, who finished 16th in the FedExCup standings, will make his first start since August.

Rafael Campos also enters with momentum, fresh off his first TOUR victory at the Bermuda Championship. After welcoming a baby girl just before the event, Campos vaulted from 147th to solidify his 2025 status but looks to build on his breakthrough in Georgia.

The bubble-watch intensifies, with Wesley Bryan sitting at No. 125 after a stellar FedExCup Fall run, including five made cuts and four top-25s. Joel Dahmen (No. 124), Sam Ryder, and others near the edge will fight for their TOUR futures at this pivotal season finale.

PGA Best Bets & Predictions: The RSM Classic 2024

PGA DFS Picks: Top Tier

LUDVIG ABERG ($11,200)

He returns from a two-month hiatus following knee surgery, ready to defend his RSM Classic title. The 25-year-old set a tournament record last year with a -29 finish, highlighted by a career-best 61 in the final round.

Ranked No. 5 in the world, Aberg is the field’s highest-ranked player by 19 spots. Despite the layoff, he’s posted two top-5 finishes in his last five starts and enters with +900 odds, making him a must-play.

BRIAN HARMAN ($9,800)

Brian Harman, a Sea Island resident, returns for the RSM Classic with a strong course fit and recent form. Harman, who tied for 13th at the Macao Open last month, ranks 5th in driving accuracy and 19th in approach among the field.

Known for excelling on Bermuda greens, he’s delivered three top-14 finishes here, including a runner-up in 2022. With his Southern success and local familiarity, Harman is primed to contend this week.

SEAMUS POWER ($9,200)

Seamus Power has been a standout all Fall Swing and returns to Sea Island, where he’s finished 4th and 5th in his last two starts. Power thrives in easy scoring conditions, ranking top-5 in strokes gained total within the field.

Fresh off a closing-round 65 at Bermuda, his form is strong, with four top-13 finishes in his last five events. At $9,200, Power offers excellent value and is poised for another top-tier finish.

PGA DFS Picks: Mid-Tier

J.J. SPAUN ($8,400)

J.J. Spaun offers tremendous value this week, with his salary inexplicably dropping $600 since his last start. Excluding a first-round withdrawal at Sanderson Farms, Spaun has made 11 straight cuts, with nine top-30 finishes.

He ranks 17th in SG: Approach and thrives at the RSM Classic, making 7-of-8 cuts, including four top-16 results. Spaun has finished top-20 here the past three years and was runner-up in 2017, showcasing his consistency and strong iron play.

ADAM SVENSSON ($7,800)

Adam Svensson is a prime example of how course familiarity can turn struggles into success. After missing the cut in his first three RSM Classic starts, Svensson won in 2022 and followed it with a T5 last year. The Canadian has been sharp this fall, making four cuts and earning two top-25s in six starts.

He ranks 16th in SG: Tee-to-Green and 20th in Total Strokes Gained over his past 24 rounds, excelling with wedges and approach play. At $7,800 on DraftKings, Svensson offers tremendous value, particularly given his strong course history. His consistent ball-striking makes him a standout mid-range pick for all formats this week.

JACOB BRIDGEMAN ($7,600)

Jacob Bridgeman has been a steady performer this fall, recording three top-15 finishes in his last five starts. The 24-year-old Clemson product has 10 top-25 finishes this season but is still chasing his first top-10 result.

Now 109th in the FedExCup Fall standings, Bridgeman has locked in his 2025 PGA Tour card. Making his RSM Classic debut, he enters in strong form and could be poised for a breakthrough on the big stage this week.

PGA DFS Picks: Value Tier

GREYSON SIGG ($7,300)

Greyson Sigg, a Georgia native, thrives at The RSM Classic, finishing T8 last year and T15 the year before. Fresh off a T9 in Bermuda, Sigg continues to shine with elite ball-striking, leading the field in greens in regulation last week despite a cold putter.

Returning to his home course, he’s poised for success on familiar greens. With two top-10s, a T11, and a T23 this fall, Sigg is an exceptional value play, offering strong upside at his price.

BRENDON TODD ($7,100)

Brendon Todd is a fantastic low-cost option this week, especially with ownership in the $8K range projected under 4%. Coming off a T20 finish last week, Todd has made eight straight cuts since July, including three top-10s and a runner-up at the John Deere Classic.

The Georgia native excels on short, accuracy-demanding courses with Bermuda greens, where his strong driving and putting thrive. Despite missed cuts here the past two years, Todd’s T4 finish in 2019 highlights his potential.

CARSON YOUNG ($6,900)

Young has shown plenty of upside this season, making the jump from the Korn Ferry Tour and sitting at No. 101 in the FedExCup Fall standings. He’s been a boom-or-bust fantasy option, with a top-10 finish at the World Wide Technology Championship and a top-20 at the Fortinet Championship.

While his missed cuts at Sanderson Farms and Shriners are concerning, his ability to go low makes him worth the risk at under $7K, offering solid leverage in GPP formats.
