Sanderson Farms Championship 2024: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections

This event has been a steppingstone for many rising stars, like Sebastian Munoz, who won his first PGA title here in 2020, and Cameron Champ, who did the same in 2019.

Last year, we got a wild five-man playoff, with Luke List emerging on top for his second career win. Should be a fun one!

Country Club Of Jackson: Course Breakdown This Week

The Country Club of Jackson, a historic Mississippi course founded in 1914, has hosted the Sanderson Farms Championship since 2018. Originally designed by Donald Ross, the course underwent changes in 2008 that lengthened it for professional play but also removed some of Ross's classic design elements. The modern version is straightforward, with a mix of reachable par 5s and short par 4s, turning many holes into wedge opportunities for PGA players.

The greens are small, but flat and relatively easy to putt on, while the fairways are forgiving. Players tend to take an aggressive approach, relying on recent strokes gained on approach (SG: Approach) to succeed. Key metrics to watch include proficiency with wedges (75-150 yards), SG: Approach, and birdie percentage from the rough, as these elements often decide the leaderboard at this event.

Top players in SG: Approach over the last 30 rounds include JJ Spain, Ben Griffin, Doug Ghim, and others. Overall, success here often boils down to solid approach play and getting hot with the putter.

Sanderson Farms Championship 2024 Field: Golf DFS

Defending champ Luke List is aiming for a rare back-to-back win after last year's five-man playoff victory. Patton Kizzire, fresh off winning the Procore Championship, will try to keep up his momentum. Hunter Logan, a Mississippi State alum, is making his PGA TOUR debut.

Matt McCarty, fresh off three wins on the Korn Ferry Tour, secured the top spot in the Points List and will play at Sanderson Farms instead of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Rickie Fowler is back for his Sanderson Farms debut after welcoming his second child, while Mackenzie Hughes, the 2022 winner, and Camilo Villegas are also in the field.

Notably, Henrik Norlander is back after being part of last year’s playoff, and Ben Griffin, at No. 61 in the FedExCup standings, seeks redemption after a disappointing finish last year. Players ranked 51-60 in the FedExCup Fall standings will qualify for the 2025 Signature Events, adding extra incentive for the week.

PGA Best Bets & Predictions: Sanderson Farms Championship 2024

PGA DFS Picks: Top Tier

SEAMUS POWER ($10,200): He’s a player to watch at the Sanderson Farms Championship, especially on the easy courses where he thrives. Over the past three years, he's ranked as the second-best performer in the Fall Swing among this field.

Known for his solid putting and impressive approach game, Power has the skills to make a significant impact in Jackson. With his track record and current form, he’s a strong play for those looking to capitalize on his potential this week.

JJ SPAUN ($9,900): He’s been in excellent form, finishing in the top 10 in three of his last six starts, including a strong showing at the Procore in early September. Spaun has consistently gained strokes off the tee and on approach, making him a reliable contender on a course that rewards accuracy and solid ball striking. If you're looking for a player in good rhythm and capable of competing, Spaun is an ideal choice this week.

PATRICK FISHBURN ($9,400): He’s been on fire lately, finishing 3rd at the Procore while gaining strokes across the board. Sure, his DFS price is creeping up at $9.4k, but it’s justified with how well he's been playing. Fishburn's consistency and all-around game make him feel like he’s on the verge of a big moment—perfect if you're looking for someone ready to break through.

PGA DFS Picks: Mid-Tier

PATRICK RODGERS ($9,100): He’s really been hitting his stride lately, finishing in the top 40 six times in a row. This course is the kind where he could easily post an impressive score, aiming for that 18-20 under par range. He’s also gained over a stroke on approach in his last two tournaments, which is crucial for him since he usually excels with his driver and putter.

While he hasn't snagged a top 10 here yet, he does have a couple of top-20 finishes and shot 68-69 last year. With his solid par 5 scoring and recent form, he’s definitely a player to watch for both DFS and even as a betting pick at +3000!

MATT KUCHAR ($8,500): Matt Kuchar is a solid pick for the Sanderson Farms Championship, especially considering his recent form with finishes of T3, T12, and T13 in his last three starts, including at the Procore. While he hasn't played this event in a while, he's currently ranked No. 105 in points and is aiming to qualify for next year's signature events. At 46, Kuchar remains one of the top putters in the field, sitting 18th on Tour this season. His experience and current performance make him a player to consider for your lineup this week.

CHARLEY HOFFMAN ($7,800): Charley Hoffman is a strong contender for the Sanderson Farms Championship, thanks to his prowess as a long-iron player and par-5 scorer. Fresh off a solid 26th-place finish at the Procore Championship, he showcased improved putting skills that could propel him even higher this week.

Hoffman has previously finished sixth at the Country Club of Jackson, proving he can handle this course well. With his experience and recent performance, Hoffman is poised to make a significant impact, making him a player worth considering for your lineup.

PGA DFS Picks: Value Tier

RICKIE FOWLER ($7,700): Thinking about adding Rickie Fowler to your lineup for the Sanderson Farms Championship? At $7,700, he’s definitely worth considering! Although he hasn’t played since July, when he finished T71 at The Open, he’s looking to gather some FedEx Cup points and build momentum for 2025. Plus, while he’s never played in Jackson before, his talent level is hard to ignore. If he can shake off the rust and get in the groove early, he could be a solid steal for your lineup!

HENRIK NORLANDER ($7,500): Henrik Norlander is a prime candidate to consider for the Sanderson Farms Championship, especially given his impressive track record at the Country Club of Jackson. With three top-5 finishes in the past four years, including a runner-up finish last year, he clearly knows how to navigate this course.

His strong putting performance in 2023 indicates that he's in excellent form on the greens. Currently sitting at 131st in the points standings, Norlander has plenty of motivation to elevate his game this week, making him a compelling pick for your lineup.

GARRICK HIGGO ($6,800): Ryan Moore is a solid DFS option this week if you’re hunting for value in the $6K range. He’s known for his accurate driving and strong wedge play, which should work well at Silverado.

Don’t forget he finished runner-up here in 2019, so he knows how to handle this course. Given his past performance and current form, Moore could be a great sleeper pick to watch for a strong showing in Napa.

KEVIN STREELMAN ($6,400): With the field not featuring many big names, he stands out as a value option. He’s had two top-10 finishes at Jackson in his last six appearances, so he knows how to navigate this course.

Plus, at just $6,400, he’s got some great upside. Sure, he struggled a bit at the Fortinet event, but his past success here shows he can bounce back. If you want to add some depth to your lineup, give Streelman a shot!
