Published: Nov 13, 2024
After an exciting World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico, the PGA Tour moves to the beautiful Port Royal Golf Course for the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Established in 2019, this tournament is now the penultimate event in the fall season. The field may lack top-tier stars, but plenty of PGA regulars are competing for crucial points.
Butterfield Bermuda Championship 2024: Daily Fantasy Golf Picks & Projections
Originally an alternate event held during the WGC-HSBC in China, Bermuda became a full-points tournament after 2020.
Players can expect challenging rounds with sweeping ocean views from nearly every hole.
Port Royal Golf Course: Course Breakdown This Week
Bermuda is known for its golf culture, and Port Royal Golf Course, built in 1970 by Robert Trent Jones Sr., is its crown jewel. With stunning ocean views, the course combines challenging play with natural beauty. A 2009 renovation reshaped bunkers and updated grass, and since 2019, it has hosted the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
At 6,828 yards, Port Royal is one of the shortest on the PGA Tour, but its difficulty stems from coastal winds. The first six holes play inland, while the back nine runs along the cliffs, exposing players to the elements. Accuracy off the tee is crucial, and with water on seven holes and 87 bunkers, the short game is key. The 16th hole, a 235-yard par 3, is the signature hole.
With high winds expected, precision and short-game skills will be essential. Port Royal rewards a well-rounded game, making for an exciting and scenic week of golf.
Butterfield Bermuda Championship 2024 Field: Golf DFS
Camilo Villegas returns to Bermuda, where he claimed his first TOUR win since 2014, though no player has won back-to-back at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Seamus Power, the 2022 champion, is back after a one-year absence and has finished in the top 15 in four of his last five starts.
Daniel Berger and Joel Dahmen are also in the field, moving up in the FedExCup standings. Players ranked between No. 118 and No. 135 are aiming for spots in the top 125, with Hayden Springer currently sitting on the bubble at No. 125. Kevin Yu and Nico Echavarria are also competing for spots in the Aon Next 10.
Presidents Cup connections this week include Villegas, Mackenzie Hughes, and U.S. Team assistants Kevin Kisner and Brandt Snedeker. Additionally, Russia's Egor Eroshenko, who won the Monday qualifier with a 6-under 66, along with Tyler Collet, Luke Schniederjans, and Ethan Cairns, will also play.

PGA DFS Picks: Top Tier
SEAMUS POWER ($10,500)
Seamus Power is the co-favorite at the DK Sportsbook alongside Mackenzie Hughes, both priced at $10,000. Power has a strong affinity for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, winning here in 2022-23, and he’s been in great form with four top-15 finishes in his last five events.
His only missed cut came at the Shriners Children's Open. Power has shown resilience, including a strong final round at the ZOZO Championship, and while his putting is usually average, he stands out in this field. With Bermuda's winds in play, Power is poised for another solid performance.
BEN GRIFFIN ($9,700)
Ben Griffin came close to his first PGA Tour win at the 2022 Bermuda Championship, finishing near the top, and he’s a strong contender again in 2024. The 28-year-old has made the cut in seven of his last eight starts, with three top-24 finishes in his last four events.
Griffin ranks 6th in approach and 8th in total strokes gained over his last 36 rounds. With a T3 finish in Bermuda two years ago, Griffin is an elite option for your lineup, excelling in coastal, short, and windy conditions. Port Royal could be the place for his breakthrough win.
PATRICK RODGERS ($9,500)
Rodgers has posted back-to-back top-five finishes at Port Royal and has missed just one cut in his last 12 starts. He’s currently ranked 55th in the standings and has two top-25 finishes this Fall. A previous T3 finish in Bermuda shows he’s trending in the right direction.
While his fall season hasn’t been stellar, his consistency with four top-25 finishes makes him a safe choice this week. Keep an eye on how he handles the tougher opening nine holes before committing to him fully.
PGA DFS Picks: Mid-Tier
NICK TAYLOR ($8,300)
Nick Taylor is a surprising value in this field, especially considering his success on the PGA Tour in stronger fields. A winner at Pebble Beach in 2020, he’s proven to excel on coastal courses with wind, making him a strong pick for Bermuda.
Taylor also has multiple solid finishes at Waialae and TPC Scottsdale, showing his consistency in similar conditions. Though his best finish here is 23rd, he ranks 21st in Good Drives Gained and 26th in Scrambling, making him a solid option to consider this week.
JACOB BRIDGEMAN ($8,000)
Bridgeman, a 24-year-old with no prior experience at Port Royal, is an excellent fit for this course and offers great value at his price. He’s made six of his last seven cuts, including four top-20 finishes.
The Clemson alum ranks third in par-4 efficiency and fifth in SG: Putting over the last 24 rounds. He’s 6th in SG: Putting on Tour and has made cuts in his last four starts, with two top-15s. Bridgeman’s consistency, strong putting, and solid recent form make him a great pick this week.
JOEL DAHMEN ($7,500)
Dahmen could have an advantage if the wind conditions play out as expected, as his strong ball-striking would be highlighted while his struggles with putting could be less of a factor. Although he's been inconsistent, Dahmen is showing signs of form, and this course fits his strengths.
He hasn’t competed at Port Royal yet, but his past success at events like Corales and Mayakoba suggests he can perform well here. A second PGA Tour win could reinvigorate his career, and if he finds his ball-striking form again, he could contend in this favorable field. His recent 14th-place finish in Mexico moved him closer to securing his card for next season.
PGA DFS Picks: Value Tier
MARTIN LAIRD ($6,900)
The $6,000 range is thin this week, but Laird is a solid option. After making the cut in Mexico, he brings the second-highest SimLeverage in the field. Though he’s missed 15 cuts this season, Laird has five top-25 finishes, including a runner-up at the 3M Open.
His recent form has improved, with strong showings in six of his last seven events, including a T31 at the World Wide Technology Championship. Laird’s accuracy and short-game skills make him a good fit for this course, and his ability to handle wind gives him additional upside at low ownership.
SEAN O’HAIR ($6,500)
O'Hair has missed his last four cuts, but he’s made the weekend in three straight appearances at this event, including two top-25 finishes. Over his last five starts, he’s only finished under par once, with a -13 showing in his lone made cut.
While his recent form is concerning, O'Hair's experience, particularly in tough conditions, gives him potential value at $6,500 and under. At 42, he may be better equipped to handle the pressure than younger players, making him a low-risk, high-reward option in this price range.
